4th Year Mapping Field School: 100 Km N-NW of Yellowknife, NWT (August 2003)

- Mapping Archean rocks (granites, migmatites, metasediments) in the Slave Craton, as a part of the NWT geological division (DIAND, CS Lord Geoscience) project. Data collection involved using pocket PCs containing ARCmap, with later use of ARCview. Methods of transportation were zodiacs and hiking traverses.
- Presented a poster at the Yellowknife Geoscience Forum, 2004. Rocks collected from the field school will be used for my thesis study of the mineralogy of iron-rich metasediments/volcanics and relating this to metamorphic grade

Research Assistant: Melville Island, NWT (June, July 2003)

- Studying glacial terrain in the high arctic, with a focus on marine deposits. Mapping glacial flow features, collecting shell samples and conducting air photo interpretation. Extensive regional coverage, involving helicopter survey. Based out of a fly camp for 5 weeks, with ATV's as the mode of transportation.

Research Assistant: Hay River, NWT (July 2002 – August 2002)

- Studying Devonian carbonate reef stratigraphy. Took notes on the outcrop, collected samples, repelled cliffs to map sections. Majority of the time camping out of a pickup truck.
