* EXPLORATION GEOLOGY-May 2007-December 2007, Kennecott Minerals, Greens Creek Mine, Admiralty Island, Alaska. Working as a geologist in a helicopter supported exploration program. Duties include detailed core logging, quick logging, soil sampling, geological mapping, core cutting, line cutting, drill pad building, building and receiving helicopter sling loads, working safely in remote and extremely rough terrain, and performing drill environmental, safety and progress checks.
* GEOLOGY FIELD SESSION- Summer 2006, 6 weeks in Utah and Colorado. Generated geologic maps on topographic and photographic bases, drafted cross-sections, utilized stereo-pairs, deduced geologic histories, generated stratigraphic sections, prepared technical reports on geology including oil and mineral deposit locations and characteristics.
* GEOLOGICAL FIELD METHODS- Fall 2006, a study of the techniques used in field work, along with completion of several field problems. Generated geologic maps on topographic and photographic bases, drafted cross-sections, utilized stereo-pairs, deduced geologic histories, prepared technical reports.
* SEISMIC SURVEYING- Summer 2005, Seismic Surveyor-Wolf Survey & Mapping, Big Piney, Wyoming. Used a Leica GPS system to survey source/receiver positions for geophysical exploration. Duties included operating the GPS system and surveying the points, and labeling the points with flagging, tags and lath.
* EPICS I- Team leader, designed and constructed lunar rover capable of travel over lunar terrain. Implemented effective control system, improved and modified rover design, troubleshot problems with control and power systems. Prepared and presented written and oral technical reports.
* EPICS II- Team member, investigated elevated selenium levels in the Lower Arkansas River with the goal of differentiating between natural and agricultural selenium input. Researched tributaries of the Arkansas River and compared physical characteristics with selenium content. Ranked the tributaries based on levels of selenium input. Prepared and presented written and oral technical reports.
* 2003-Present Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum- Led tours teaching school groups about the rock cycle, mineral properties, fossils, and the geology of the Golden area. Organized paper work for teaching sets and fossil kits. Scheduled tours and trained new staff on museum procedures. Opened and closed the museum.
* Summers 2000-2002 Gateways Summer Program, Student Aid. Assisted 4th and 5th graders in the safe construction and launching of model rockets. Supervised and taught classes of 20-25 students.
