INTERESTS: I have a love for Geology and in particular am enjoying Bushveld Geology but, am willing to take on any new experiences in any other commodities. I also did a bit of heavy mineral separation whilst at varsity and found that extremely interesting. I am an outgoing person and enjoy making new friends. I am easy to approach and am wiling to help anyone with problems. My approach to life is to see the good in everyone and where possible help to bring out the best in people. I am also an avid rugby supporter and love the sport. I am a hands-on person and would like to try all aspects of Geology and am very flexible and highly motivated and eager to learn. I am interested in the GIS side of things in particular and would love to be able to learn a modeling program and ore resource calculation. I also have an interest in reptiles and all weird and wonderful insects and creatures.
I enjoy cycling and have completed the two largest time cycle events in the southern hemisphere (94.7 Cycle Challenge 2007 and the Argus Cycle Tour 2007). I have also done the Lost City Challenge: road race and mountain bike race, which was in aid of Cancer.

COURSES: I have completed an Advanced On/Off Road Driver Training course as well as an Advanced off Road Driver Training course with Gerotek in Gauteng, South Africa. I have also done a first aid course with MSA Geoservices medical staff. I attended a refresher first aid training course with SATTA in October 2006. I completed a Courageous Leadership Course through BarrickOctober 2006, attended the Rhodes Magmatic Course Feb. 2007 which is part of the M.Sc. Exploration Course held at Rhodes University. I was a Temporary Part time Research Assistant over the December holidays in 2002, 2003 and in 2004 at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. My duties included Mineral Separation using various techniques including: Sieving wet/dry separation and Magnetic Separation, as well as Heavy Liquid Separation, on Heavy Mineral samples collected in the field from various locations around South Africa, particularly in KZN.

COMPANY: MSA Geoservices
DATE: September 2005 – July 2006

I worked in Zambia for three weeks on a Gold Exploration Project doing Geo-chemical Soil sampling.

I was then transferred to Potgietersrus, in South Africa, to a Platinum Exploration Drilling Project, where I oversaw two Percussion Drill Rigs. I have done Reverse Circulation Drilling and Percussion Drilling.
I have logged and sampled the UG2 and Merensky using the above two rig types. I also did the data capturing for the project using Sable Data Works, and I can also use Surfer. Just before I left I was starting to get involved with the QAQC side of things. I can use a GPS. I sampled the Bushveld UG2 and Merensky Reefs (of the Eastern limb) for both Reverse Circulation and Diamond Drill rigs. I also logged core from the Diamond Drill Rigs that were also on site.

COMPANY: Barrick Africa
DATE: July 2006- Current
I am working in the Western Bushveld involved in the Underground Bulk Sampling, channel samples and mapping that took place in 2006/7 on the Sedibelo Platinum Project.
On Surface: Core sampling, Logging and drill rig supervision. Magnetic susceptibility of core and underground panels for detection of IRUP was also done. I can use a magnetic susceptibility meter as well as the Portable Infrared Mineral Analyzer (PIMA). I am occasionally the site supervisor due to the Geologists shift rotations. I am involved in interpretation of the property. The Project is about to reach bankable Feasibility.
