I am a State Registered Paramedic, with some 19 years experience as an Offshore Medic in the offshore Oil, Gas & Renewable Energy industries, both on floating and fixed installations in the UK sector of the North Sea, ROV construction and support and, most recently, offshore wind farm construction vessels off the UK coast.
During this time, I have undertaken the equipping and setting-up of 2 F. P. S.O. installation's medical facilities, including the preparation of equipment schedules and medical stocks in line with both SI1019 and M1319, as well as preparation and delivery of medical party personnel training and multiple casualty contingency planning. In addition I have previously set up and operated medical treatment centres in remote locations whilst serving in H. M. forces.
I have medical and administrative skills which have been developed and expanded to cater for the requirements of the ever changing offshore industry and pressures imposed on personnel to undertake varied and diverse tasks.
I am computer literate, with experience of Microsoft operating systems and Office products including development of applications to carry out various administrative tasks.
I have been involved with the provision and presentation of Health Promotions materials towards Scottish Health At Work awards including leaflet / poster campaigns and presentations to personnel at crew meetings. Also operation of noise dosimetry equipment, to record individual work exposure for personnel identified as being at risk under installation N. E.M.S. programmes.
I am capable of working both as an individual, and as part of a team, as dictated by the task, or tasks, at hand, to deadlines and producing work to a high standard for reports and presentations.
I have good communications skills and am experienced in dealing with personnel from all areas of the workforce and management structure both offshore and onshore.
