Directed and coordinated site personnel on Environmental/Health/Safety aspects, including EHS program development, modification and implementation. Performed site Laser Safety and Radiation Safety Officer duties. Instructed personnel in EHS subject areas, group size from one-on-one to over 100 individuals. Developed and reviewed metrics pertaining to process development department budgets, personnel and equipment utilization, and product or process quality, implemented appropriate improvement measures. Developed procedures and trained technicians and manufacturing operators for processes and operations. Set-up and managed a new pilot production line for a new product.
Plant Engineering Coordinator (3M), 1988 to 1993
Started in this position to oversee construction of a major R&D facility. Developed operational and preventative maintenance procedures. Trained and led utility plant operators. Operated machinery and equipment with objective of supplying reliable utilities to Austin Center divisions. Successfully sought ways to improve energy efficiency and other cost-cutting operations. Operated computer systems controlling Austin Center environmental atmosphere and utilities. Compile history logs on databases for trouble shooting and energy efficiency improvements.
