CURRENT POSITION

I am currently employed as the Resource Geologist at BHP Billiton¡¦s Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) site on Groote Eylandt, approximately 50 km off the Northern Territory coast. GEMCO¡¦s operation consists of a medium sized open cut manganese mine, beneficiation plant and ship loading facility. Responsibilities include:

„d Competent Person for reporting mineral resources and ore reserves as per the JORC code
„d Geological orebody modelling (Vulcan)
„d Drillhole database custodian
„d Blasthole modelling
„d Grade control visualisation and trouble shooting
„d Reconciliation
„d Reverse circulation, open hole precision, diamond core drilling for manganese
„d Well completion for water monitoring bores
„d Severed water bore remediation, with a significant reduction to pit dewatering costs
„d Providing technical expertise to environmental projects; hydrogeological modelling, environmental drilling in hydrocarbon contaminated marine environment
„d Face mapping, density sampling, field mapping
„d Proposals, papers, tender and contract preparation
„d Supervision of consultants, contractors, sample preparation and field staff on project basis including budgets, tasking and all other relevant aspects

NORFORCE

As Troop Commander of the Groote Patrol I am responsible for approximately 12 fully qualified indigenous soldiers, Commonwealth Government facility, high-tech military equipment and armoury. The unit is extremely well trained and is an integral part of the defence of Northern Australia.

During my time as the leader of the unit, participation of indigenous soldiers has increased from zero to twelve. The success of the Groote Patrol can be attributed to; good men, and an ability to inspire people to achieve they¡¦re absolute best.

In November 2001, I was awarded a military ¡§Commendation¡¨ by the Land Commander, Australian Defence Force, Major General P. J. Abigail, for exemplary dedication to duty, judgment and professionalism as the Groote Eylandt Troop Commander.
