Junior Engineer Acted as assistant to the Shift Blasting 1978 - 79
Engineer. In charge of logistical support of blasting section. In charge of drilling blast holes with Marion drill rig and loading of diesel fuel mixed ammonium nitrate and explosives primer into blast holes. Number of men supervised – 6.

Junior Pit Acted as assistant to the pit geologist: 1979 - 80
Geologist mapping geological data inside pit, transfer of data into level plans and sections, did also geo-engineering geotechnical study of pit. Number of men supervised – 4.

Driller-Trainee Subjected to ten months trainee as exploration 1980 - 81
driller under three driller-trainors of Sprague and Henwood diamond drills (US made).

ration sites at the periphery of open pit of
Atlas Mining. Had also undergone reverse cir-

Drill Supervisor Supervised two to three drilling rigs in a 1982 - 84
shift. Number of men – 6 to 9 (@ 3 men per rig)
Responsibilities included logistics for con-
tinuous operation, analysis of ground forma-
tion encountered so that proper drilling pro-
cedures are implemented, correct drilling mud and additives are used to avoid possible prob-
lems. In charge also of preparation of next drill pad to provide ready site, mobilization procedure aside from the usual supervision of daily drilling activities. This position also entails on the job /hands-on activities on the repair and preventive maintenance schedule of the equipment. This means acting also as super-
visor to mechanics/mechanical section of the drilling operation.

Foreman Due to diligence, was promoted to Foreman. 1986 - 88
This position handles 3 to 6 rigs in a shift
Number of men handled – 18). Drill rigs handled now included Longyear 44. However, all down the hole accessories were Longyear. In charge also of waterwell drilling at the source of industrial water for the mine. These holes are of 150 to
200 meters depth. Size of hole is usually 12 inch, with 4 inch filtration/gravel packing composed of uniformly sized pea gravel placed around the casing, which is in turn composed of blank casing and perforated Johnson screens. Johnson screens are placed opposite aquifer or water zone. End of casing is either closed or open ended. Casing is cleaned at the perforation by swabbing and jetting for 48 hours. Then cleansing (potassium hypochlorite)
is jetted also for 48 hours. To determine the capacity of the water well, dynamic and static water level tests are conducted. The first is done for 24 continuous hours monitoring the water levels at gradually increased water pump capacity until the maximum rate of pumping is attained. This test is followed by static water level test measuring the water level at every pumping rate.
This will determine the cone of depression as affected by nearby wells. The riser 8-inch pipe with the right capacity pump is installed. Pump is lowered 3 meter below the lowest perforation level and should not be on the perforation level. However, the pump must also be at least 6 meters from the bottom which serve as catch basin for the sand par-
ticles that enters the casing and settles. Water well should be rehabilitated and cleaned at least
3 to 5 years.

Assistant Supt. In charge of the over-all drilling operation 1988 - 90
in the mine from personnel hiring, firing, promotion; open pit/surface diamond drilling and underground; Underground drilling involves uphole drilling, horizontal and down holes;
makes recommendations to the Supt.; Also makes time and motion study and PERT/CPM schedules of drill rigs, monitoring and analysis of the drilling performance, analysis of drill equipment, drilling tools/parts and down-the-hole items, and machine parts and supplies monitoring and useful life analysis. All these studies are per-
formed to upgrade continuously the efficiency and cost consciousness of the operation.

Drilling Supt. In charge of all drilling operation inside 1990 - 92
the mines, outside exploration drilling, under-
ground drilling, waterwell drilling and well rehabilitation and geotechnical/engineering holes.
Geotech drilling included SPT, piezometer moni-
toring holes, dewatering holes, foundation or grout holes and anchor bolting holes to support mine walls. All these duties are in consonant with the geology department or any outside client.

All other drilling position ( excluding mining related) The job was just repetition of the above work accomplishment.
