My experience includes (10)ten years in mining. When I first started in this business, I was an equipment operator, mostly on all types of scrapers. Later I was promoted to dozer operator running the D11 cutting high wall for the 1570Be dragline, and later to the groundman position.
As I grew with each company I became more equipped to handle more challenging and difficult situations. I was soon promoted to operations equipment trainer. As the trainer, I supervised each new and old employee on how to operate, handle the equipment, and what to do in certain situations. The employees that I worked with soon progressed into ideal equipment operators, and were able to handle situations that arose on a day to day basis. Later, I was promoted to operations supervisor with a crew of twenty one (21) mean. The crew that I took over was lacking in strong leadership. I completely turned these group of men into hard working team, working together, not against each other.
To date, my crew has the highest production rate, they have learned to utilize their skills and abilities, and at the same time work together to get the job done.
