First Aid (advanced Certificate) – Practical one-week course on how to handle injured person/s (May 2002)
Basic Supervisory Course – One week course with an objective to equip supervisors with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective management of their subordinates in their work places with a view to improve productivity. Topics covered include communication skills, delegation, team building, motivation etc (April 2003)
CRI – used the CRI training methods to learn about the flash dryer, concentrate injection system, water-cooled hood and CT converter operations. (Aug – Sept 2003)
2. Project Metallurgist, monitoring and evaluation 2003-2004.
Producing, or amending, a PFD for the Flash Dryer and Concentrate Injection plant.
Producing the process data associated with the Flash Dryer and concentrate Injection plant.
Developing the operating parameters of Flash Dryer and concentrate Injection Plant. Simulation of the smelting reactor and calibration for use as an optimization tool for plat operations.
Served as smelter metallurgist on El Tenient Converter, Pierce Smith converters and participated in the development of the control Philosophy when process changed from conventional way of operations to pneumatic injection of bone dry concentrate. Nkana Smelter is Currently operating the Flash Dryer and Concentrate Injection Plant and has made this new plant to treat 80% of the concentrates for the production of Copper.
