Director of Quality Assurance
* Responsible for all aspects of quality control at three metallurgical coal preparation facilities in Southern West Virginia which produce a combined 4 million tons per year of low and medium volatile coals. Jointly coordinate plant shipping schedules with plant production managers. Responsible for maintaining quality and production information of 25 to 30 contract mining operations. Review production and make plant process changes and modifications based on daily plant circuit data and daily production quality data, as well as current mine quality and conditions. Responsible for raw coal blending at facilities per each individual customer's quality requirements. Prepare statistical process control (SPC) reports for each customer on a monthly basis. Responsible for dealing with customers' quality/availability concerns and questions. Develop software for use by laboratory and office personnel. Coordinated and supervised the development and implementation of a Quality System for a subsidiary preparation plant, which was granted registration to the ISO9002:1994 standard shortly thereafter and has recently been awarded ISO9001:2000 accreditation. Perform laboratory audits at preparation plants' contract laboratories as well as internal audits for the preparation plants that are ISO registered or compliant.

* Directed project designed to automate data acquisition for CT&E's Petrographic Laboratory, as well as for a pilot scale coke research oven and for a sole heated oven. Project manager for an on-line analysis quality assurance program developed for a major aluminum producer's lignite mining operation. Assisted CT&E's Technical Projects Group with statistical analysis and technical report generation whenever possible. Assisted Director of CT&E's Appalachian Region with marketing and budgeting issues. Reported directly to the Director of CT&E's Appalachian Region.

* Supervised eleven CT&E Pineville, WV employees over three shifts at an on-site laboratory for a 2 million ton per year metallurgical coal preparation plant. Responsible for maintenance of laboratory's quality system. Part of a team attaining ISO9002:1994 registration for the laboratory. Performed statistical data analysis and daily quality reporting, as well as software development. Trained employees on job requirements and ISO documentation. Assisted in training new employees for start-up of an on-site laboratory near CT&E Pineville, WV for a 1 million ton per year metallurgical coal producer.
