Started as junior mine engineer in 1987 and was promoted to professional engineer to handle planning, design and production in the three open pit mines: Potocari, Visca I and Visca II. Planned, organized and supervised the development of mines, mine facilities, systems and equipment; and prepared and supervised the extraction of minerals from surface mines.
Performed the following duties:
* Developed weekly and monthly mine plan for scheduling of ore and waste to meet long-range plan objectives.
* Conducted weekly drill and blast schedule and advised on appropriate drilling and blasting methods.
* Optimized short-range pit designs and ore reserves to minimize stripping ratios.
* Analyzed loading, hauling, drilling and support equipment needs for the weekly and monthly mine plans.
* Coordinated scheduling of equipment needs with mine operations to successfully accomplish the mine plans.
* Communicated with long term planning engineers on a continual basis to ensure long-term goals were targeted.
* Developed detailed plans for pit power distribution system and pit dewatering system.
* Communicated with geotechnical/hydrological engineers to ensure slope safety factors were adequate in mine designs.
* Designed haulage systems and supporting structures.
