EXPERIENCE:
Operations Superintendent – US Silica - July 2003 to Current
Primary responsibility includes the supervision and coordination of forty-two hourly employees and three salaried employees in the production of Aplite. This includes all mill process operators, mine operators, maintenance employees, railroad loaders and laboratory personnel. Additional responsibilities include supervision and scheduling of contractors, assisting in the development of budgets, developing production models, and overseeing the maintenance program.
·Increased production rates in all areas of the mining, beneficiation and loading processes by reducing production bottlenecks, implementing more effective operator training programs and reducing inefficiencies in personnel scheduling.
·Implementation of Statistical Process Control procedures has eliminated production of product that does not meet customer specifications.
·Zero lost time accidents or reportable incidents among all production, maintenance and lab personnel.

General Supervisor Of Mining – US Silica - June 2002 to July 2003
Main responsibility included the supervision and planning of all production and maintenance activities throughout the mining process. Additional responsibilities included environmental engineering, mine planning, and maintenance of mobile equipment fleet. The mining crew consisted of eight mining operators.
·Increased mine productivity rates by seventeen percent by increasing the quality and amount of operator training, improving the condition and organization of haul routes, and increasing mobile equipment availability.
·Developed computerized ore blending program to contend with increasing variability and complexity of ore body. This resulted in a significant reduction in the variability of the chemical and size distributions in the mined product.
·Developed hardness scale specific to the ore body to better regulate the varying hardness of the ore deposit.
·Zero lost time accidents or reportable incidents among mining crew.

General Supervisor Of Maintenance – US Silica - February 2002 to June 2002
Principal responsibility included the planning, organization, and supervision of all mechanical and electrical maintenance in the mill and the mine. This included maintenance for all stationary and mobile equipment. Those reporting included six millwrights, two electricians, and four utility personnel.
·Reinstated and updated abandoned preventative maintenance schedules resulting in reduced unscheduled stationary equipment downtime of ten percent.
·Reduced mobile equipment downtime by twelve percent by expanding and enforcing a more stringent and comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the mobile equipment fleet.
·Zero lost time accidents or reportable incidents among maintenance and utility crews.

Maintenance Supervisor – Asarco, Inc. - April 2000 to December 2001
Primary duty included the supervision of union maintenance crew consisting of seven welders and nine millwrights. Planned, organized and supervised all maintenance activities within the processing plant.
·Reduced maintenance labor costs through development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program and installation of updated milling equipment.
·Assumed responsibilities of the Senior Mill Foreman and the Mill Planner during any absences.
·Supervised mill operators, mobile equipment operators and railroad loaders when required to maximize production of milled products, including zinc concentrate, agricultural lime and construction aggregate.

Mining / Metallurgical Engineer – Empire Iron Mining Partnership - May 1999 to August 1999
Internship - Primary function was as a staff engineer in both the mine and in the processing plant.
·Completed environmental application to the DEQ for authorization to relocate wetland areas. Approval of the application allowed for large tailings dam project to commence.
·Identified various possible causes of pebble mill overloading.

Field Operations Technician – Eichrom Industries, Inc. - May 1998 to September 1998
Internship - Primary function was to repair, operate, and maintain a failed iron extraction resin plant within an SX/EW circuit at a copper-producing mining operation in Sonora, Mexico.
·Successfully repaired the iron extraction resin plant. Also trained the operators and maintenance personnel on the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment.
·Acquired basic Spanish-speaking skills while spending four months in Mexico.
