PROFFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Senior Geologist - Nchanga Underground Mine - 2000 to date.

(Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Ltd - 1995 – 1999; Konkola Copper Mines Ltd. 2000 to date).

Planned diamond drilling sites and drilling programmes; laid out production blocks using geological drill hole information, monitored and supervised ore grade control as well as underground dewatering.
(a) Managed to come with drilling programme that was well in line with mine development schedule in my section; and kept development ahead of production;
(b) Managed to achieve ore grade targets and maintain high grade factors, also updated and evaluated ore reserves regularly with drillhole information;
(c) Provided useful geological information from mapping underground to advise mining officials on ground conditions; this helped minimize mine accidents;
(d) Involved in dewatering of underground production areas – logged dewatering drillholes, supervised monthly water measurements, carried out dewatering drillhole pressure tests, and interpreted water profiles to advise on how production would be affected by water underground.

Production Geologist – Openpit - Jan.1998 – to date

Worked closely with mining personnel directing which benches to produce from and at what grade; advise on ground conditions through geological mapping.

(a) Provided hangingwall mapping data on benches;
(b) Dust hole logging as wellas logging at RC drilling rig sites;
(c) Geological modelling and evaluation using datamine;
(d) Monitored exploration drilling and logged drillholes; updated bench plans and sections;

Production Geologist – Underground (Room &Pillar/Block Caving) - 1995 - 1998.

Part of the team of geologists that developed an orebody to full production through a carefully planned and intensive drilling programme.

(a) Logged drillholes and did ore reserve and orebody calculations;
(b) Provided accurate geological data for laying out developments (both primary and secondary);
(c) Monitored and controlled ore grade at various stages of production;
(d) Carried out underground geological mapping.
