A professional Mining Engineer with 15 years experience in Mine Ventilation. Proven ability to provide a good auxiliary ventilation of different underground mining methods. A strong team leader, leader by example, inspiring others toward shared goals.

The mining methods mentioned above are shrinkage, rill stoping, garpenberg, panel mining, ramp mining, overhand and underhand cut& fill, sub-level mining and block caving as well as long hole stoping.

Selected achievements
1. Team leader in the recovery of dead bodies in the recent Mine Explosion at Sunshine Tunnel, Mt. Diwalwal, Mindanao,Philippines. Safe recovery was undertaken through the provision of good ventilation.
2. Top rate Ventilation Engineer hired to ventilate an old mine( Apex Mining Company) for a safe rehabilitation. It is inherent to this mine even during the previous operations the high concentration of CO2 and H2S ( 7% and 22 ppm respectively)where several miners were victimized by these noxious gases. It is fortunate that I was selected and hired where no single incident on gas poisoning occurred since the start of operation last year because of the provision of good ventilation.
3. Received awards and certificates from Mines & Geosciences Bureau for unselfish rendering of help in the restoration of ventilation at Sunshine Tunnel, Mindanao, Philppines

* Make fan selections and design auxiliary ventilation systems a. Working closely with the Planning Engineers to designs the location of ventilation infrastructure.
b. With the high concentration of noxious gases underground, the ventilation system was set-up to immediately move out foul air to surface by placing the exhaust raises at the center of working places.
c. Designed the right size of fan installed in every exhaust shaft and auxiliary fans for the individual work places.
* Develop strategies to reduce miner exposure to mine contaminants a. Auxiliary fans were located to strategic positions and ducted towards the working faces.
b. Keeping the right size of ventilation tubes to carry the required volume of fresh air to the face.
c. In this set-up, the miners at the face are always in a fresh air supply. As the air flows back, it collects the noxious gases being emitted along the floor and sides of the drift up to the exhaust raises.
* Conduct regular mine ventilation survey and maintain detailed records a. Uses the Vane anemometer and digital anemometer in carrying volumetric survey, sling psychrometer for ambient temperature, magnehelic and portable barometer for pressure survey as well as the velometer. Added to these are the MSA
Orion Plus and dragger tubes for mine gases survey.
b. Measuring stations are established for monitoring.
c. Measurements are placed in a log book and stored in electronic file. These are likewise posted on ventilation maps.

* Provide advice for execution and completion of ventilation designs a. Working closely with the mine superintendents for immediate actions on their ventilation concerns.
b. Using the VNET PC and VentSim ventilation softwares, the ventilation set-up is updated and designs future mine expansion. Simulation results are presented to management for inclusion in the current and future design of the mine.
