Electrical Supervisor / Acting Maintenance Manager, Anvil Mine Katanga Province Democratic Republic of Congo,( October 2002 to 25 January 2004).
HANDS ON POSITION.

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Inspection and maintenance of all mining machinery¡¦s.
ƒæ Construction of 11kv overhead power transmission lines and sub-stations.
ƒæ Terminations of XLPE ( 11KV) cables.
ƒæ Installation, commissioning and repairing of soft starters and variable speed drives.
ƒæ Maintenance of 4 by 375kva 400volts generators.
ƒæ Troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment.
ƒæ Installations of electrical equipment, i.e motors, transformers, generators, machine controls and lighting.
ƒæ Enforce preventive maintenance schedules.
ƒæ Alterations, installations, maintenance and repair of all mine electrics, electrical switchgear, equipment and fixtures
ƒæ Directing of maintenance and repair of high voltage (11kv) primary distribution equipment.
ƒæ Ensuring that work assignments are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations and standard trade practices is significant to the work.

Responsibilities:
HANDS ON POSITION

ƒæ Installations of all electrical equipment associated with mining and processing operations, i.e motors transformers, generators, machine controls, earthing, and lighting.
ƒæ Inspection of all electrical construction works.
ƒæ Testing and Commissioning of Mine process plants.

Electrical and Instruments Charge Hand, Delta Gold Zimbabwe, Eureka Mine in Guruve, Zimbabwe, (May 1999- January 2000).

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Inspection and maintenance of all mining electrics.

Project Electrician, Metallurgical Design and Management (Pvt) Ltd. South Africa, Eureka Gold Mine Project in Zimbabwe. (January 1999- May 1999).

ƒæ Delta Gold Zimbabwe, Eureka Mine in Guruve

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Construction of 2 by 2,5 MVA 33KV sub-station.
ƒæ Switch rooms (mcc) and control room.
ƒæ Installation of conveyors, vibrators, crushers, ramsey-weightometers, level sensors, flow meters, PLC¡¦s.
ƒæ Installation and set-up of variable speed drives, Electronic rectifiers, soft starters.
ƒæ Automation of the process plant and commissioning.

Project Electrician, Cadtek Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, (October 1998- January 1999)

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Power measurement and installation of power Factor correction units.
ƒæ Design participation, bills of material, quotation, tendering and installations.

Electrical Charge-hand, Teco Treger Industries (Pvt) Ltd, (April 1998- September 1998)

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Installation and maintenance of Electro-hydraulic spinning lathes aped 300
ƒæ (Multi-Template) copying and attachment machines.
ƒæ Metal Drawing and blanking presses, induction heaters (static inverters, Electro-static furnace).
ƒæ Installed reactive power relays for power factor correction capacitors.
ƒæ Inspection and tests on PLC's and all other electrics.

Electrical Foreman / Acting Resident Mine Engineer. Zimbabwe German Graphite Mines Lynx Mine, Karoi Zimbabwe, (October 1992- March 1998)

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Supervision and inspection of all electrical installations.
ƒæ Assessing process costs. Locating and eliminating energy wastage, upgrading switch rooms (mcc) feeder cables.
ƒæ Maximum demand monitoring. Installed electronic drives, 300KVA stand-by generator, belt weigher and turf bag scales.
ƒæ Constructed 500KVA sub-station and power factor correction units. Installed single and three phase energy meters.
ƒæ Overhead power transmission lines construction.
ƒæ Refurbished 175h.p.double drum hoist control with special emphasis on safe operations of protective devices.

Electrician, Lonrho Muriel Gold Mine Mutorashanga, Zimbabwe, (February 1989- October1992)

Responsibilities:

ƒæ Installation and maintenance of all mine associated electrics.
ƒæ Attend to breakdowns.

Electrical Apprentice, Lonrho Muriel Mine Mutorashanga, Zimbabwe, (January 1985- January1989).

DUTIES
The major objective was being trained to become a multi-skilled and flexible mining artisan electrician. This included working with qualified senior artisans carrying out practical project work in the installation, maintenance and repair of mining and process machinery and the associated drives. In addition, attended Harare polytechnic college for theory and workshop practices.
