14. SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS/ ACHIEVEMENTS
a) Co-ordinated all project activities successfully to culminate in construction of a green-field project in record time and prior to TATA titanium project in Tamil Nadu.
a) Manavalakurichi Ilmenite Mine and Plant won the National Safety Award from Govt of India, consequently for 3 years (1999, 2000 &2001)
b) Production & Profit records were achieved by improving feed grade recovery & cost-cost cutting measures (2000 - 2004 )
c) Won several inter-unit Environmental & Safety awards by introducing Scientific eco- restoration/establishement of nursery & Control of sea water intrusion during mining adjacent to highly populated areas.
d) Long term planning of raw material supply for the plant from several deposits/areas and technical evaluation of mineral sand deposits.
e) Conducted several National Seminars & Workshops connected with Development of Mineral Industry in India. Notably National Seminar and Exhibition on mining and mineral processing in May 2002 in Kerala ( India ) which was attended by representatives from Roche Mining Australia and Outokompu USA among others. Received MEAI development award (Gold)for 3 years.
f) Shifting and re-erection of Dredge cum wet concentration Plant /conceptual design of stand-by dry feed arrangement during dredger break-downs.
g) Prepared the first 5 year plan of open-cast copper mine of HCL…the then largest hard rock mine in Asia.
h) Special Blasting near Howrah – Bombay railway track.
i) Establishment of Nursery in Mines and rubber plantation in Mine Dumps in Assam.
j) Planning Design and Monitoring of 10 limestone Mines from Corporate office of Cement Corporation of India, New Delhi.
k) Worked with RTZ Consultants UK, GMA Consultants UK, MECON and assisted in preparation of consultancy reports.
