2001-To Present Safety Director/Head Environmental Engineer, Progress Coal-Massey Energy.
Responsible of all safety aspects of this complex, training,safety evaluations and regulatory compliance. Responsible for all environmental compliance of surface mine complexes. I am the liaison with environmental regulatory agencies. I do inspections for 2 MSHA impoundments, the inspection and preparation of certification for all valley fill and sediment control structures. I approve all reclamation and field work to the required permit conditions and regulations.

2000-2001 Project Manager/Forman, Hi-Tech Construction
My duties were to coordinate, organize and supervise construction crews and subcontractors to meet job and customer specifications.

1990-2000 Project Manager, Construction Safety and Environmental Compliance Engineer, Pen Coal Corporation
I assisted in the design, cost analysis, budgeting and direct supervision of construction crews for all projects related to production and non production. I assisted in the design and supervision of open pit surface mining as well as deep mine projects. I was in charge of the design and treatment of waste/water produced by all operations. I designed and implemented system to meet National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance. I was in charge of all time studies for personnel.

1988-1999 Team Instructor, Southern Coalfield Mine Rescue Association
I was employed as team captain for April 1988 until June 1994, at that point I was promoted to team instructor after receiving state certification. I was responsible for training of two, six member mine rescue teams. I developed plans and procedures for mine rescue disaster recover, as well as rescue equipment maintenance and training schedule.

1988-1990 Environmental Engineer, Island Creek Coal Company
I was employed as an environmental engineer to design and implement a water treatment and reporting system for three hundred monitoring sites, located in southern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky, to meet National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance. I was subsequently promoted to Reclamation Compliance Engineer. At that position my duties were to supervise construction of emergency spillways, decant system, erosion and sediment control for class nine, class three impoundments surface mine operations.

1987-1988 Chief Draftsman And Designer, Appalachian Surveying Inc.
I was employed as the Chief Draftsman and Designer. At this position my duties were the design and layout of surface and deep mine operation. I was the survey crew leader in charge of readout information and collection.

1985-1987 Preparation Plant Fabrication Designer/Drafting Detailer, Guyan Machinery Co.
My duties were and not limited to the collection of measurements and data fro customers facilities. I designed fabricated products that were used in the coal preparation industry. I was also instrumental in testing and evaluation of new products we designed along with time studying for effectiveness and performance.
