Renco Mine, once the largest gold producer in Zimbabwe, is a narrow reef underground mine owned by RioZim Limited. Responsibilities and achievements:
- Head of Survey, responsible for Survey and Sampling operations;
- Supervised underground and surface surveys and associated office work;
- Supervised manual draughting of plans and electronic updates;
- Supervised and carried out mine valuation procedures including determination and reporting of Renco Mine's ore reserves;
- Supervised calculation of Mine statistics and production of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports;
- Carried out short, medium and long term mine planning;
- Advised management on, and ensuring adherence to, legal requirements of the Mines and Minerals Act and Survey requirements of the Mining (Management and Safety) Regulations;
- Implemented the company's occupational health, safety and environmental (HSE) policy at departmental and mine levels;
- Controlled departmental budget in relation to labour, equipment and stores.
