2001 - 2002 Sons of Gwalia, Marvel Loch Project Safety Advisor
Mining at the Sons of Gwalia began in 1897, and continued until 1963. During this time it produced 2.6 million ounces of gold from depths down to 1,000 metres via an incline shaft. The Sons of Gwalia grew to become the largest gold mine outside of Kalgoorlie, and the deepest of its kind in Australia. The 2.6 million ounces recovered (1897-1963) amounts to approximately USD $1,209,000,000 (AU $1,649,836,461) at 2005 prices. The current Sons of Gwalia recommenced operations in 1981 and has been under administration in August 2004

1992-1995 Kanowna Belle Gold Mines – Chief Mine Surveyor
Kanowna Belle is currently owned by Barrick who has a strong presence in the Eastern Goldfields near Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Western Australia. In addition to the Kalgoorlie Super Pit, operations in this region consist of both refractory and free milling ore types that is mined over a large area and processed at the Kanowna Belle mill. There are currently four mines in production: Kanowna Belle, Raleigh, Bullant, and Paradigm. During 2006, Kanowna produced approximately 477,000 ounces of gold at a cash cost of $388/oz and is expected to contribute 330,000-350,000 ounces at total cash costs of $365-$380 per ounce in 2007. Proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2006 are estimated at 1.9 million ounces of gold.
In addition to Chief Surveyor duties recognized the importance of OHS and commenced formal studies in this field.
