The purpose of these positions is:

Plan, organize and control shovel and drill electrical maintenance activities to ensure maximum availability and reliability of shovel and drill electrical equipments with minimum cost, in order to provide efficient and effective shovel and drill electrical maintenance services in supporting operation to meet their goals according to company's policies and procedures.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

* Plan, organize and control shovel and drill electrical maintenance activities in order to ensure the availability and reliability of shovel and drill electrical equipment.
* Develop preventive maintenance plans, including manpower requirements and material/spare parts preparation, priorities and coordination with mechanical, operations, planning, and material management groups in order to accomplish preventive maintenance plan efficiently and effectively.
* Liaise with planning, operations and other related groups to develop major overhaul plans.
* Prepare failure data report including, type of failure, cause of failure, and vendor verification, in order to provide analysis of equipment breakdown and obtain the most efficient and effective solution.
* Prepare monthly equipment performance report, in order to monitor and evaluate the equipment availability target achievement.
* Communicate, organize, and control the implementation of company's safety and environmental policies and procedures, in order to ensure subordinates perform their duties in a safe manner and environmentally conscious.
* Develop, monitor, evaluate, and appraise performance and potential capabilities of subordinates, to contribute the development of professional team.
* Determine subordinates' leave schedule and training, in order to ensure the availability of required employees and improve their skills and abilities.

The key challenges of position include:

* Effective communication with expatriate employees. This requires in-depth and broad knowledge in shovel and drill electrical maintenance and operation activities and also strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* To develop shovel and drill electrical subordinates skill. This accountability requires in-depth and broad knowledge in shovel and drill electrical operation and maintenance activities, and also strong communication and managerial skills.

Equipment worked on:

* 4 P&H 4100, 2 P&H 2800XPA, 2 P&H 2800XP, 2 P&H 2800XPB and 4 Bucyrus 495BI/II Electric mining shovels.
* 2 O&K RH120 and 4 O&K RH200 Hydraulic shovels.
* 2 BE 49RIII Electric Drill Rigs.

The purpose of this position was:

Plan, control, carry out and analyze actual activities and standards of work to minimize equipment downtime to meet company targets for equipment availability within allocated budgets and in all areas of safety to maintain a zero accident policy.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position were:

* Maintain and troubleshoot a fleet of P&H 4100, 2800XP, XPA, XPB and Bucyrus 495 mining shovels, Bucyrus 49RIII blast hole drills and O&K RH120 and 200 hydraulic mining excavators.
* Troubleshooting of ABB DCS600 digital, analogue and Siemens Simadyn and Simovert control systems associated with the above Electric mining shovels.
* Testing and recommissioning of P&H and Bucyrus Electric mining shovels after major equipment overhauls to ensure they operate to OEM specifications.
* Interrogation and programming of Allen Bradley SLC 500 and PLC 5 series plc's.
* Control and supervise safety, environmental awareness and performance within the electrical maintenance group. Encourage interactive communication with employees, to get opinions, ideas and discuss issues to insure all safety issues and concerns are known by every individual.
* Organize, control and supervise unplanned electrical maintenance activities to ensure maximum reliability and availability of Shovels and Drills.
* Review, Develop and implementing unplanned maintenance standards and procedures in order to provide guidelines in conducting maintenance activities according to company's policies and procedures.
* Identify staff and non staff development needs, plan the fulfillment, and implement the development by facilitating the appropriate courses (Apprenticeship, Repairmen and Fellowship) for employee advancement.

The key challenges in this position include:

* Continuity of safe and reliable operation of Shovels and Drills as a result of electrical maintenance activities on mining equipment in accordance with complexity levels of condition of pad area and weather of shovel during the PM, equipment support as one of the tools for success, unplanned break down events etc.
* Maintenance activity to meet overall goal vs. critically of the parts, labor skill and knowledge and proper tools and equipment support.
