I enjoy working as part of a team and have done so for many years. This has brought me into contact with people from different background. I have also gained invaluable experience from sharing and exchanging ideas irrespective of people's ethnic background, sexual orientation or religion.

One of my strongest assets is the ability to work under pressure and to achieve targets within limited time schedule. In my present role I plan, supervise as well as delegate duties, these enable me to manage successfully resources at my disposal.

I operate a flexible rota and can adapt easily when circumstances dictate. I have often done overtime or cancelled holidays in order to achieve operational targets. I always identify with common objective.

After matriculating, I started my apprenticeship at Western Holdings Gold Mine in 1971.During my apprenticeship, and qualified at (No Suggestions) training centre with "A" symbol, receiving the highest marks in South Africa was awarded apprentice of the year and received a bursary to study further.
Working as an underground Electrician on Western Holdings GM maintaining Ward Leonard Winders together with incline winder.
In 1975 I joined General Erection as Elect Site Supervisor, as this was a new shaft; I installed and commissioned 2x AC Man Winders [Ward Leonard] 1x DC rock winder.
Then transferred to Verwoerd Dam and installed and commissioned hydro electrical turbines 400MW working in conjunction with Toshiba and Fuji.
In 1977 I was head hunted by Frazer and Chalmers as Site Foreman responsible for the installation and commissioning of Present Steyn, President Brand and Free State Geduld.
Flotation plants, CIP/CIL plants, Acid Plants and Calcine Plants, having 16 electricians 4 welders 8 fitters and a team of cable hand s and laborers.
After completion and handover of the above, Free State Geduld Mine offered me a position as Charge Hand/ Electrical Foreman in the Flotation and Gold Plant; I upgraded the HT on the milling section and installed all new switchgear in the substations. Having 4 electricians 10 assistants. This included the mechanical department, installing new rail ore bin complete with conveyors and gyrating crushers [primary and secondary].
Was transferred to Anglo Gold Vaal river operations/Moab in 1985 to install and commission 2x DC Siemens winders 1x AC variable speed winder, all shaft cables. Power, control, bells communication and instrumentation. During which time I studied for my Wireman's License and completed various courses see diplomas achieved, responsible for Planning, Leading, Organizing and Controlling of workers and budgets as well as Safety and loss Control. Relieving as foreman on numerous occasions.
Transferred to Mali West Africa Operations Anglo American Gold Mine, working in the gold plant and outside Sections, Villages and Camps the overhead lines up to 22kv, pump stations, submersible pumps where maintained by myself and a crew of 4 Malians artisans and 15 laborers, training them at the same time. Installed and maintained several overhead and tower cranes.E.G. Morris Stahl and various others, installation and wiring of panels and ensuring that all electrical and mechanical safety trips are working.
AT HIS Bay co worked as a Site Manager supplied and installed new Gold Plants and all subsidiary plants that go with the main plant including substations all electrical and mechanical pumps.
Presently working in Iraq for the last 2 years as a Electrical Supervisor responsible for all electrical and the maintenance of substations and the installation of refurbishing the buildings and Pods and assisting the Electrical engineer with QA/QC of all installation
