Work has included tear down, clean up, check for fatigue and evaluations of machine; print up, replace, and refurbish worn out parts; total modifications including. 5" and 1.5" Upsetters; machine new and remanufactured crankshafts; weld mains and throws; stress relief and remachining; key-way and 6"-19" bushing; field repairs such as line boring, die cushion, honing, drilling, and tapping on bushings, sleeve studs, and shafts. I also have done various repairs on lathes, mills, and presses and performed portable machine work in the shop and at customer's facility.

12/05-08/06 Miracle Arc, Inc. (1709 Thompson St. Suite 303, Lansing, MI)
Machined new and remanufactured sow blocks for 3000 and 5000 lb hammers, refurbished rams, rebuilt and repaired portable mills, and performed on-site machining of hammer bases and repair jobs on industrial shears.

Machined rough blanks, raw steel, and investment casting to finish parts, machined 6060 bushing for cranks; manufactured manipulating arm hubs, spur gears, blanks, buttress threads for adjustment screws; modified deep drilling machines for field machining; also assisted in the design of the control panels for these machines. Laid off for a short period due to a lack of work and returned as the plant maintenance and equipment repair person on all production machinery while maintaining field machining operations; moved machinery around for better access and production; maintained and repaired gas and propane lift trucks including a Riggers T/150 BW Vertical Tri-Lifter with an extendable boom, rebuilt its four stage hydraulic cylinders and boom leveling system with assistance from Hyster's subsidiary company and utilized this lift for removal and transport of machines for refurbishing.

Employed in the heavy machining department and was a backup for the outplant department setting up and machining crankshafts, journals, throws, hubs, flywheel belt groove, bushings, small and large clutch plates, and other press components. Transferred to the outplant department as a portable machinist with responsibilities of inspecting and resurfacing beds and slides; machining of die cushions, die cast stationary and movable platinums, t-slots, and 50 ton - 800 ton presses such as Danly, Bliss, Verson, and Komatsus and other heavy forging presses; modifications to enhance machine function by retrofitting for bearing shaft drives or motors through fabrication of plates and brackets of various sizes to line bore that were welded, brazed, or bolted in place; removal of gears; setup of wire kits in the crown to verify parallel position for line boring bar, and other portable line boring jobs. These jobs were performed on site at automotive manufacturing plants such as WR Grace, USS Steel, Bethlehem Steel Co., NIH, General Motors, Ford, Honda, and subcontractors of the automotive and stamping industries throughout the United States and Mexico.

Research and Development Machinist machining components for hot wire cutters and laser drawing devices used in the medical field; delivery and assembly when necessary of tumor plotting machines at Harper Hospital, Detroit V.A. Hospital, and other medical institutions.

09/94-08/97 Midway Engravers (811 Progress Ct., Williamston, MI)
Machinist in the blank roll department making blanks, roto dies for the grinder, blanking, and finishing print cylinders; prepared wheels for heat-treat; bored and thinned blades;
Roughed flat dies for the mill and finished them after heat-treat; various projects related to the die industries and quality assurance prior to shipment. Machinery used included all standard tool room equipment and partial training on the Quick Turn CNC Lathe and Mill.

01/93-08/94 JAT Construction Company (1231 H. St., Washington, D.C.)
Supervised a construction crew of 15 members including contractors in the rehabilitation of commercial and private buildings. Other duties included roof repair and replacement, plumbing, drywall, painting, electrical wiring, remodeling, and landscaping. In addition I assisted in the preparation of estimates and located equipment to use on the job.

12/88-04/93 Kopflex (101 Harmons Rd., Harmons, MD)
Worked as a special machinist in a large manufacturing department that made cuplinks and flex diaphragms for power plants and GE jet engines. Participated in design and tooling for the first diaphragm cuplink for power plants. Was responsible for setting up machine and tooling for production manufacturing of the flex diaphragms.

08/85-11/88 DC Tech Research Corp., (1001 Michigan Ave., NE Washington D.C.)
Headed the tool room. Worked closely with the engineering department on CAD
to determine best design method of manufacturing parts for specific products. Assisted with the design and manufacturing of fixtures for inspection on the grenade launch for the M16. Was responsible for setting up machine, tooling and manufacturing parts for Lockead Fighter Jets and baffles for GE vertical lift engines.

Started as a Production Machinist and promoted four months later to a Research
& Development Machinist. Was responsible for setting up machines and tool, and manufacturing parts for several defense contracts. Defense programs included The C4, Tamahawk, D5, EX111, Trident Missile, and The Penguin. Worked with classified materials such as metals, non-metals, and rubbers. Also, cut and weld then machine pressure chambers for The National Institute of Health.

07/77-11/79 Worthington Service Corp., (Laurel, MD.)
Worked as a service machinist traveling throughout the east coast United States to repair/replace equipment. Assignments included making new shafts and steam tubing for boiler feed pumps; installing insulation on boiler feed pumps and steam generators; refurbishing, machining, and balancing stage impellers; and refurbishing industrial commercial boilers and compressors.
