Objectives
My objective is to have a challenging role in a dynamic organization with scope for development in the corporate ladder that will allow me to capitalize on my experience in the computer and communication technologies.

Qualifications
My key professional strengths are primarily in the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and in the Power Utility Businesses with practical experience of more than 7 years and overall experience of 15 years. I was involved in several enterprise projects which are CMMI – GADQMS implementation for the GIS Production Support Project, the GIS Upgrade and Expansion Project (2005-2006), in the GIS Reinforcement Project (2003-2004), eOPs (benchmarking) and in Data warehousing.

For the past 4 years, I was appointed as a System Administrator at ADWEA for an Enterprise System valued for more than $20 million dollars. It was a big challenge and success for me to maintain and operate a 24hrs/day-7days/week system because the Transmission and Distribution companies highly depend on the GIS system for operating their Electrical and Water Networks. Nowadays, the system is highly integrated in the daily businesses processes and workflows of the companies and is becoming as their "heart" that cannot be stopped nor having any minor disruptions nor malfunctions. I have recently successfully implemented the GIS integration with SINCAL (Siemens Calculation for Load Flow analysis) for the Abu Dhabi Distribution company in coordination with 3rd party company.

In addition, I had also the opportunity to successfully install, setup and implement a complete benchmarking software solution that is currently working at ADWEA – EOPs and group companies. I also had the opportunity to work in the testing and acceptance for the Amplex Street Light Pilot Project as application and system administration. This project was later expanded to a full scale project for all Abu Dhabi emirate.

Moreover, I lead a Data Warehouse market discovery solution project that was later transferred to a committee of which I am a member. This in turn gave me the opportunity to participate at an international European conference as well as and several related seminars.

Contributing ideas that worked

The ADWEA GIS Enterprise system evolved into many stages. The system started initially with one database server 450Mhz with 4-CPUs and 5x8-CPU 900Mhz application servers running over Win 2000. The Database server OS was Solaris 8 working under Oracle 8.1.7. Nowadays, the server was upgraded to 1.2GHz with 8-CPUs running Solaris 9 with Oracle 9.2.0.3. In addition, 4 new application servers of 2-CPUs Xeon 3GHz were added to the previous servers running over Win 2003 server. These hardware upgrades were major factor in providing better performance improvements to the GIS user communities and clients that is increased significantly. As a system administrator, I was highly involved in the design, implementation, and installation of these servers in contribution and assistance of ESRI. This required my active involvement in recommending solutions for problems faced at each stage as well as reporting on progress made at every milestone.

In addition, the application servers were upgraded from ARCGIS 8.2 over ARCSDE 8.2 to ARCGIS 9.1 working for ARCSDE 9.1. These servers were running for Citrix Metaframe XP FR2 and recently upgraded to FR3.
In the coming near future, as previously designed, several application servers will be introduced and will be running over the new Citrix Presentation Server 4.2

These new systems introduced several problems and issues which were registered in the USVD. I am currently working closely with the appointed contractors and ESRI to find solutions in order to overcome the problems encounters so that we can better serve our clients.

Currently, I am involved in the implementation of CMMI – GAD QMS for the GIS Production Support project that will allow Injazat to improve and deliver quality services to its clients.

My key responsibilities are summarized below:
* System & user analysis and system's design testing and implementation.

* SINCAL (Siemens Network Calculation) coordination, testing and implementation for GIS integration with load flow.

Experience that brings measurable value
Previous experience for about 4 years as Head of GIS was in building a complete GIS solution from level zero to a fully functional and operational GIS system for an Electric Distribution utility company in Lebanon - GISEZ. The challenge was in transforming the networks into the GIS system, fully integrate the Customer Information System within the GIS, building and integrating applications within the businesses processes and workflows, efficient use of load flow analysis studies to minimize technical losses. This GISEZ system is highly successful, fully functional and operational and minor updates were introduced to it since then. Its main functions lie in the detection of illegal consumption of electricity (fraud energy) and in the optimization of the electricity supplied to customers using the load flow analysis that is integrated with the Customer Information System. After the full GIS implementation, the company won two European international awards.
