Working with Global Steel Holding Limited, a holding company managing over 13.8 million tonnes (mt) of steel-making capacities located in five countries across Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific, besides India. Presently
Working as Dy General Manager(Supply Chain Management) in KREMIKOVTZI AD, Sofia, 2.3 Mill.Ton capacity steel plant, biggest in Bulgaria. The major work areas are:
1. Transport & Logistics:
* working as deputy to the Director(Trans & log.)
* Logistics contracts to the tune of 125 millions USD with Government Railways: Bulgarian and Greek; Ports: Burgas, Lom, Varna, Thessaloniki, Svishtov; and Lightering barge of M/s Co-eclerici, Italy. Contacrts for renovation of wagons and hiring of wagons.
* Vessel Chartering: Annual around 30 Panamax vessels and barges as per requirement.
* Developing new river and sea port to cater to additional handling capacities and Multinational Railways for enhanced infrastructure facilities for streamlining the current and future requirements.
* Coordination between Raw materials dept. and Marketing for daily/monthly & annual plans and execution.
* Handling demurrage cases/disputes at load port/discharge port.
2. Project contracts: Project contracts for Revamping of Hot strip Mill, blast furnace, sinter plant etc worth 100 Million Euros.
3. Central stores:
* Worked as Head of stores and Prepared and implemented the Warehouse manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP ) in the stores.
* Managing inventory worth 17 Mill. USD. Physical verification and Identification of non-moving and obsolete items & disposal of unusable assets. And member of standing cross functional committee of disposal.
* Emergency & Local Purchases.

4. Process improvements:
* Completed two six sigma projects and implemented office TPM.
* Internal Auditor for SOP as per ISO 9001:2000 and regular auditing of SOP's for Marketing & Sales Export; Stores and Inventory Management and Information and public communication;

II ) From Nov 1986 To Aug 2006

Hindustan Zinc Ltd, is the biggest producer and market leader in Lead & Zinc mining & Smelting in India and a flagship company of Vedanta Inc, UK. HZL is multi unit organisation having its mines and smelters in Rajasthan and Andhra pradesh. Rampura Agucha Mine is biggest Zinc and Lead Mine of Asia. It is ISO 9001:2000, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certified unit.
Task handled at Rampura Agucha Mines:
* Contract Management: Responsible for global outsourcing of non-core activities. This includes various contracts for mining, exploration, plant maintenance, construction, AMC for major mining equipment, and Project Contracts for expansion of the plant and mines. The total annual contracts and job orders handled is around 250 nos. with total spend of Rs. 500 Millions.
* Procurement: Procurement of capital equipment for project expansion from global sources.
* Logistics: Managing Outbound Logistics for 800,000 Tonnes of Bulk Zinc & Lead concentrate by road, railways and export shipment to Kandla port. Managing two 120 MT Weigh bridges. Processing for Export Shipment of 150,000 Tonnes of Lead and Zinc concentrate. Authorised representative to witness the companies cases in the Railway Claim Tribunal, Jaipur.
* Receipt: Inbound Logistics for Rs. 1 Billion worth of consumables and capital goods.
* Explosives and HSD storage: Managing supply of Explosives and POL and maintain the Licences for Explosive Magazine and HSD storage.
* Excise and VAT: Authorised signatory for excise matters and business manager for VAT case. Handling Excise matters related to clearance of concentrate and cenvat on inputs and capital goods.
* MIS and Inventory control.
* Disposal: Disposal of scrap, NPA and non-moving spares of around Rs. 32 Million.
* Stores function: Stores and inventory management of Rs. 210 Millions.
* ISO Implementation: Core team member for ISO 9001:2000, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 and managing periodic audits.
* SAP: Power user for the unit for SAP R/3 for MM module and Key user for S & D module.
Achievements/Major task handled at HZL:

* Head of Commercial at Zawar Mines Unit: Responsible for a spend of around Rs. 250 Millions including Purchase of raw material, consumables and capital goods and spares for mining & milling plant and HEMM from indigenous and overseas sources and contracts for capital and revenue mining works and service contracts of Rs 150 Millions.
* SAP R/3 MM module Implementation at ZAWAR MINES.
* Improvement Project for simultaneous use of two Weigh Bridges to save on time and reduce waiting time at RA Mines.
* Introduction of EPCG scheme for procurement of.
* Disposal: Highest ever disposal of scrap and NPA and non-moving inventory at Zawar Mines and RA Mines of Rs. 15 Millions and 35 Millions respectively.
* ISO certification: Core team member for integrated certification for ISO 9001:2000,14001 and OHSAS: 18001 for Zawar unit and Rampura Agucha Mines.
* Manpower optimisation: Streamlining the materials dept function by optimising the manpower, resulting in reduction of manpower by 35% at Zawar and RAM.
