MINER
I began in an entry level position underground and was promoted to a Miner position in November of 1990. In order to be promoted to a Miner, I had to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: roof and ground control, loading, transporting and general handling of explosives, escape and evacuation, personal protective equipment, electrical installations, hydraulic drilling, track and rubber tire haulage, installation and maintenance of ventilation controls.

HOISTMAN
I have fourteen years experience as a Hoistman and Spare Hoistman. Responsible for the movement of miners, material and equipment in the shaft.I am experienced on Nordberg hoists with Tiley controls and Ottumwa double drum hoists.

MINE RESCUE
I have fourteen years experience as a Mine Rescue Team Member. I have attended numerous regional and national competitions.I have also attended 2 MERD excercises at the MSHA Academy in Beckley,West Virginia. I am certified on Biopak 240s Rebreathers and am very familiar TMX 412 and ITX multi-gas testers.

TRAINING SKILLS
I have experience training both new and experienced miners in such areas as mobile equipment operation, escape and evacuation, roof and ground control techniques and many other mine safety topics.

SAFETY
I served as a member of ZCA's Safety Committee for four years. I have been directly involved with accident investigations, accident prevention and hazard recognition.
