Employment
-May 2007-January 2008: Post-doc fellowship at the Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra (Università di Pisa) with a project titled "study of the Serbian-Bosnian Dinarides".
-April 2004- April 2007: Post-doc fellowship at the CNR-Istituto di Geoscienze e Georisorse (Pisa), with a project entitled "Rilevamento geologico-strutturale ed analisi strutturale di dettaglio delle unità di avanfossa Oligo-Mioceniche, finalizzato alla definizione dell'evoluzione della catena Appenninica" (Structural field-mapping of the Oligo-Miocene foredeep units and relationships with the geodynamic evolution of the Northern Apennines).

Research Fields
-2007 I was in charge for the study of the Ophiolitic Zone of the Serbian-Bosnian Dinarides and for the development of a regional map. For this project I spent almost 2 months working in the field along the Bosnia-Serbia border. The main topics of this project were the relationships between the different tectonic units (characterization of the structural position, kinematics of the tectonic surfaces etc.), the study of the metamorphic sole of the ophiolitic nappe and the geodynamic evolution of the whole belt. This project was managed together with the University of Florence and Serbian and Bosnian geoscientists.
-2005-2007 Study of the relationships between the Schistes Lustres metamorphic complex and the continental units of the European plate margin. The Schistes Lustres consist of metaophiolitic and metasedimentary sequences, folded together with slices of continent-derived gneiss. The tectono-metamorphic history of the Schistes Lustres can be related to the accretion and exhumation processes within an accretionary wedge. The first results of this study are discussed in Levi et al. (2007).
-2004-2007 The main goals of this research were the structural mapping of the Panna Water mining claim (Sanpellegrino Spa was a partner of my fellowship) and the development of regional maps of the Foredeep Units of the Northern Apennines. The first study area was located in the core of the Northern Apennines fold and thrust belt, characterized by the superposition of two foredeep units and the allochthonous Ligurian Units. This sector is characterized by a complex imbricate structure, resulting from several stages of thrusting and back-thrusting, associated to complex fracture patterns. The main results of this study are discussed in the paper Cerrina et al. (in press).
The second part of this project included the review of the available biostratigraphic data (nannofossils assemblages) of the main Foredeep Units of the Northern Apennines for the development of regional maps. During this work I was in charge for the regional interpretation, and for the managing of other geoscientists (in particular biostratigraphers). The main results are in press by Society for Sedimentary Geology Special Publication.
-2001-2004 For my PhD project I studied the Helminthoid Flysch unitsm and in particular the Antola Unit, that is characterized by a polyphase deformation history, related to two different tectonic stages. In particular the first part (the collisional tectonics) is characterized by a marked inhomogeneous distribution of the deformation, which is confined within the shaly basal complex. The following deformations, affecting the whole thickness of the unit, are in turn related to the intercontinental tectonics. The main topics of this research are listed in Levi et al. (2006) and Catanzariti et al. (2007).
