2004 to 2006

Cal Energy, a MidAmerican Energy Company. Calipatria Ca.

I&C/DCS Technician

Instrumentation and DCS support for 13 generating units in 6 geothermal power plants located in the Imperial Valley, Ca. Supporting Foxboro I/A DCS running on Sun Unix platforms, Rosemount Delta V DCS running on Microsoft NT4 operating systems, Woodward, Triconix, and Mitsubishi governor control systems and Bently Nevada temperature and vibration monitoring systems. Responsibilities included DCS repair, maintenance, data backups and programming, PLC trouble shooting and repair, maintenance and configuration of RTX plant data logging systems and well field SCADA systems. Using all the above systems along with Hathaway event data collection systems I was responsible for identifying causes of turbine trips and supplying supporting data and documentation. Installed, configured and maintained database and hardware for Druck documenting calibration system.

2001 to 2004

HVAC control system engineer

All aspects of commercial HVAC control system engineering and design from bid preparation to submittal including hardware specification. Included control system logic programming and graphic screen configuration of Delta Control DDC building control software, and control system logic design for chillers, boilers, air handlers, cooling towers and pumping systems. Also supervised field network installation and performed system checkout and startup of BacNet based Delta Controls DDC systems with OrcaView software installed and configured on Windows XP operating systems.

Formed applied services division of Systemation with another individual. Focus was system integration for municipal water and waste water treatment plants. Systems used Modicon PLC's, Opto22 I/O and Citec software running on Microsoft NT4 server/operating systems. Services included panel design and fabrication, installation, configuration, calibration, start up and commissioning of systems. Provided factory trained field service for the sales division on Foxboro instrumentation and calibration services for flow metering devices.

1985 to 1998

President, founder and primary business manager.

Manufacturer's representative for several major lines of instrumentation. Provided repair, calibration, maintenance, installation and start up of instrumentation and control systems in New York and Pennsylvania with additional customers scattered from New England to North Carolina. Provided technicians for plant shutdowns and outages. Primary customers were water and waste water treatment plants, paper mills, food processing plants, hardwood lumber drying operations, and various other applications. My involvement included general business management, sales, system design, supervision installation, start up and calibration of instrumentation. Sale, design, installation and servicing of data telemetry and SCADA radio based systems.
