Appointed as the construction manager for a copper and gold mine. Unfortunately the main contractor was liquidated, end of contract.

Aug 2001 to Nov 2004. Mechanical Analysis & Engineering Design.
MAED is a company specializing in the design, project management and construction of Gold mines and processing plants. My appointment as the Electrical Engineer, is to design and implement the E & I portion of the project. I am responsible for the "Project life cycle" which includes the MV / LV distribution, Motor control and instrumentation. I was based in the Zarafshan region of Uzbekistan, and appointed as the Construction Manager of a turnkey Gold mining project. This included the Civils, structural and mechanicals.

April 2001 to Anglo American Plc., Johannesburg
June 2001 Premier Diamond Mine and Jwaneng Diamond Mine.
During the completion phase of the AngloVaal project, I was approached by Anglo American Plc., to assist with the project referred to as the "C-Cut Diamond mine expansion".
The project encompasses the development of a new sub-vertical shaft and infrastructure, for the purpose of diamond recovery. The electrical scope includes the following design and construction:
* A new surface 88 / 11 / 3,3kV substation and switchgear.
* New under ground 11kV substations and switchgear.
* New 11kV shaft sub station and switch gear.
* MV feeders and distribution.
* Two 5MW Material winders.
* One 5MW man / material winder.
* One emergency Mary Anne winder.
My appointment by the principle Electrical Engineer, is to ensure that the "Project life cycle" is fully serviced. This entails the following:
* Liase with the client.
* Overseeing the preparation and submitting of design drawings.
* Prepare and submit tender inquiries for equipment and materials.
* Adjudicate tenders.
* Prepare and present programs.
* Witness Factory acceptance tests.

Morila Gold Mine, Mali, Central Africa
Morila Open cast Gold Mine is situated 3hours from Bamaco, Mali and is being developed jointly by RandGold and AngloGold.
My appointment as the Construction Manager, Mechanical & Electrical, included the management of all the infrastructure, eg. Housing and office development, Air-conditioning as well as the Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation requirements as defined in the process design.
The plant, which is being driven by five 5,8Mw Rolls Royce diesel alternators, includes Oxide and Sulphide crushers, Sag and Ball mills, Conveyors, CIL, Reagents, 11Kv Sub stations and power distribution.

1998 - 1999 SKANSKA, Ghana, West Africa - Construction Manager.
Cape Coast Rural Electrification to 50 townships-line length +- 200km
33Kv/400v overhead reticulation for purpose of township distribution.
My brief as Electrical Engineer is to liaise with Consulting Engineers - Kennedy & Donkin, such that all project and safety requirements are adhered to. This includes the progress planning, quality assurance, man power requirements, design requirements, installation procedures, safety and commissioning. I was sourced from Denmark to ensure that the site problems encountered by Skanska are resolved.
