Was responsible for maintaining city landfill. Duties included but was not limited to: loaded self with 980G Front Loader (FL) and hauled/moved bark with a 10 yard dump truck to the landfill then spread, shaped and compacted with a D9C and D6C Dozer. The next step was to bulldoze mountain top for cap material as topsoil, grade and compact with a 980G Front End Loader, 4,000 gallon Kenworth water truck and a 670A John Deer (JD). Once that was completed then I created drainage for the landfill run off using the backhoe and manual labor such as shuffle digging, rock forming, torch cutting with other tools, and seeded and mulched on the outer rim to prevent leachy from escaping the landfill into sediment ponds or the forest area.

Was responsible for maintaining log yard, lumber yard and other roads. Duties included but were not limited to: loaded self with 980G FL and hauled/moved rock with a 10 yard dump truck from small quarry on top of a mountain and piled in certain designated areas within the sawmill. Removed rock from designated piles with either backhoe or front end loader and filled potholes and any land corrosions caused by water, then used D6C Dozer with Sheep foot attachment to break down the rock and compact the fill. Loaded self with 980G FL and hauled soil with 10 yard dump truck from the mountain top to fill and grade log yard. To control dust, watered with the water truck every dirt road in sawmill including the lumber yard and also cleaned, in the winter time, the county road that borders the sawmill. Then with the company service truck and trailer sweeper, swept all sawmill paved roads.

Was responsible for maintaining checklists assigned to the environmental department. Duties included but were not limited to: checked water tanks, pumps, log yard pond and fire pond, to ensure they maintained a safe level to keep sawmills operational. Checked chlorinator and filled if needed. Provided preventative maintenance of equipment through a detailed equipment check off list and made minor repairs as necessary. Always made sure water truck was full of water and fuel for use in case of fire breakouts within sawmill. Ensured sediment pond was cleared of wood chips and buildup with a backhoe and 10 yard dump truck in order to maintain proper water flow and drainage.

Was responsible for underground utility projects. Duties included but were not limited to: digging trenches and installing new water purification system for city which included 1” water lines to 6” main lines also including the appropriate electrical lines while providing assistance in the construction of the new watershed with a Skytrak forklift/man lift attachment. Also dug trenches for sewage water run off from the septic tank into the lawn.
