Corporate Regional Safety Manager:

Managed all Occupational Safety & Health aspects for the Eastern Region, which is comprised of 17 states, over 20,000 employees, includes over 30 high volume production centers along with 150 distribution centers, 5,000 CDL drivers and seven divisional safety managers. I oversaw compliance with federal OSHA, DOT and EPA requirements and managed the implementation of all accident prevention processes. I provided expert level analysis to Divisional Safety Managers when facing regulatory citations or fines, several OSHA were withdrawn because of my active involvement. In addition, I provided technical expertise to all divisions in meeting OSHA, DOT and EPA requirements, special emphasis included Process Safety Management requirements under the Ammonia application.
Major accomplishments included the following:
- Reduced vehicular accidents by 32%, this has been responsible for a 12 million dollar reduction in the vehicle liability portion of the Risk Management budget
- Reduced industrial accidents by 30%, as a result the Workers' Compensation part of the Risk Management budget has been reduced by $8 million dollars
- Developed and managed the implementation of Power Zone and Driver Zone, both programs are accident prevention processes that have been very successful in reducing employee and vehicular accidents
- Overseen the implementation of engineering controls which were very cost effective in reducing injuries at strategic locations, these have included the utilization of Powered Stair Climbers and Back-up cameras
- Developed the Safety Program for New Hire Orientation, this program was very interactive with new employees and lays the foundation for safety success
- Divisional Safety Manager Certification for all newly hired divisional Safety Managers, this program helps ensures competency and consistency in the execution of all occupational safety and health processes and programs
- Co-Authored the Environment Improvement Program, this audit process has dramatically improved environmental performance and covers all aspects of universal waste exposure throughout CCE
- Developed and overseen the implementation of Strategic Safety Plans, these plans have focused on all aspects of occupational safety and health

Gulf States Divisional Safety Manager:
June 1999 — June 2002 (promoted to Regional Corporate Safety Manager)

Responsibilities included all Occupational Safety and Health aspects at 11 Sales Centers in four states, consisting of over 2,000 employees. The position required developing and implementing written compliance programs for federal OSHA, DOT and EPA requirements.
Additionally, several accident prevention processes were developed and implemented that were extremely successful in saving over 2 million dollars in Workers' Compensation expenditures.
Facility safety inspections were conducted at all locations to determine overall compliance with federal and state requirements. In addition, regulatory and accident prevention training was given to all employees within the division. I was able to drive accident prevention and regulatory compliance through active senior management involvement and support.
As a result of my innovative accident prevention processes and outstanding leadership, the division was recognized with the prestigious Corporate Safety Award as having the number one Safety Program in the North American Business Unit, as a result I was promoted to corporate.
