WORK EXPERIENCE:
June 2005- March 2006 Century Mining Corp., gold mining company operating the Sigma open pit in Val d'Or and actively looking for prospects within the Abitibi greenstone belt, QC, Canada
Reporting to the chief geologist, I have been successively:
* monitoring ore spotting and loading operations to maximize ore recovery and minimize ore dilution
* sampling stockpiles and faces in the pit
* planning and managing diamond and RC drilling programs
* mapping the pit and updating the geological model in Gemcom, drafting maps
* supervising a team of 4 technicians, writing daily and weekly reports for the department
* designing ore blocks* updating on a daily basis the drill hole database in Gemcom and calculating grade and tonnage of ore blasts
* reconciliating tonnes and grade forecasted with the block model, calculated with production holes and reported by the mill.

While working temporarily in the exploration department, I took part in:
* planning and managing a surface diamond drilling program
* core logging, sampling the core and entering data into Gemcom
* reviewing previous work and building a G.I.S. to identify new targets and extend the drilling program

2003 Cie Miniere de Boulanger, gold-mining company, French Guiana, South America
During 6 months, I worked as a geologist in a company extracting and processing gold from 3 mines located in the rain forest. My tasks consisted in:

- compiling relevant data acquired by the B.R.G.M. (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) or other mining companies for the new prospects
- preparing a report comparing the different technologies available to obtain reliable maps(satellite imagery, airborne laser topography) and their respective cost
- carrying out alluvial exploration in the rain forest (assessment, mapping of the old workings, stream and soil sampling
- sampling the tailings to assess gold losses
- sampling and measuring the turbidity of water coming from the mine and from the adjacent river to assess the impact of the discard on the environment and its compliance with norms. This study was commissioned to prepare the possible opening of a new mine located close to an environmentally sensitive area

Within the Department of Geosciences, I strengthened my knowledge in economic geology, statistics and geostatistics and developed an interest in computer applications in geology (introduction to remote sensing, filtering of geophysical data and G.I.S). I also:
- completed an Honours project entitled: Petrological and geochemical study of an Iron-Rich Ultramafic Pegmatite from the Bushveld Complex
- achieved a structural field school in the Barbeton Greenstone belt: geological mapping with an emphasis on shear-zone hosted gold deposit

2001-2003 Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Géologie (Nancy, France).
ENSG is an engineering school that provided me with a strong background in geology and its applications, especially in exploration (mapping, core logging, sequential stratigraphy and interpretation of seismic data), informatics (computer programming and 3D modeling using gOcad) and water management. The training also included:

- three-week mapping and structural studies field work in the Jura Mountains and a two-week mapping project in the Alps mountains (France)
- a research project on the vanadium ore from the Bushveld complex at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (National Center for Scientific Research)

1999-2001 Lycée G. Clémenceau (Nantes, France). academic preparation for entrance to the engineering schools.

I speak 3 languages: French (native speaker), English (fluent) and German (fluent). I am used to Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power point) and some geological software, such as Surfer and a 3D geo-modeling software: gOcad. I can also do computer programming in C.
