OBJECTIVE

I am seeking a position that will put my varied work experience to good use for a company.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

I have over 30 years experience in the West Virginia Air National Guard. I was assigned as the Services Superintendent within the Services Flight and responsible for managing and evaluating all equipment, supplies and personnel to run the base dining hall or other facilities that the unit would use while being deployed in the continental United States or outside the continental United States. I am also responsible for the manning and training requirements for the unit to meet deployment and planned tasking that are regulated by United State Air Force Regulations. I managed and updated Unit Operating Procedures for the flight so that the unit can perform its mission by Air Force and National Guard standards. I am responsible for working with local vendors to ensure that the unit has the necessary items such as subsistence and equipment to prepare meals for the Unit Training Assembly. I also hold a secondary 7 level AFSC in Production Control. Through education and experience, I have developed skills in organizational behavior, effective communication, customer relations and personnel management. I have experience in using software like Microsoft Word, Excel and other military programs.

WORK EXPERIENCE

130th Services Flight August 1990 – Present
West Virginia Air National Guard

Services Superintendent – I greeted office visitors, gave short presentations to small group of people while on the base Honor Guard team, represented the flight at staff and commander meetings. I routinely answered phone inquiries regarding routine questions and referred personnel to other sections as needed. I composed documents and correspondence with agencies within and outside the unit. I acted as a liaison with other agencies/offices within and outside the unit. I managed and updated paper and electronic files that pertained to the flight. I reviewed all operational, mobility, contingency and exercise plans for their effects on the Services Flight. I evaluated all equipment, manning and training requirements to meet deployment and planning tasking and advised Services Commander and Deputy Commander for Support concerning problem areas requirements and related items that impact the mobility mission through reports and staff meeting. I complied and updated status of Prime RIBS personnel, training, equipment, and supplies and prepared the status of resources and training system readiness reports for timely submission the SORTS program. Manages and coordinates training schedules with team supervisors and coordinated activities outside of the flight to minimize disruption of the training programs. I implemented and overseen the Prime RIBS training program for UTA personnel in accordance with Air Force and National Guard regulations. I also managed the utilization of allocation of training man days for the Services Flight to ensure maximum usage of the training days. I managed the Base Housing for personnel outside the commuting distance for (UTA) Unit Training Assemblies and at Temporary Duty Locations and deployed locations. I also managed the KP contract by writing the (SOW) Statement of Wok and by being the (QA) Quality Assurance person reviewing check list that was initiated by me and used local vendors, and military establishments. I managed the buying and repairing of equipment for the Services Flight along with services by using government credit cards and government contracts and I kept track of the funds by using an Excel spread sheet and with the use of the credit card company program. I also managed the purchasing of subsistence through local vendors and government contracted suppliers while keeping track of the funds that used government credit card and government contracts by using an Excel spread sheet and credit card company program. I also wrote Operating Instructions for the Services Flight such as requesting meals for deployment, base housing, honor guard, field feeding, field laundry, mortuary affairs, morale recreation and welfare program so the unit would be in compliance with Air Force and the National Guard regulations. I was also a Services regional representative with the National Guard. I attended and completed courses; Air Force Training instructor and the Air National Guard Instructor Course and was selected to be a Services Career Field instructor.

130th Civil Engineer Squadron February 1988 – August 1990

Real Property Specialist – I established and maintained a quantitative and monetary capital asset account. I reviewed and verified account transactions. I monitored all programming documents such as work orders and contracts to insure all changes affecting Real Property account. I conducted surveys of base boundaries to insure that acts of encroachment did not occur and to determine facility repairs and maintenance items and renovations and alteration. I was responsible for continuous space use studies to insure full and efficient use of all building space. I prepared forms for the proposed facility disposal action on real estate, including land and buildings.

130th Civil Engineering Squadron July 1987 – September 1987

Temporary Technician – I was hired as a temporary technician in the position of Tool and Parts Attendant. My duties included estimating the cost of materials and keeping track of money transactions for state and federal funds, checking shipping and receiving documents, vendor's catalogs, and maintaining the status of all job orders and work orders and insuring that parts and tools were ready for the technicians to use so they could finish their assigned work/job orders. I was instrumental in the initial establishment of the computer programs for the material control funds status listing and assisted in loading of the individual tool kit inventories and the master civil engineering assets inventory.

130th Civil Engineering Squadron April 1978 – February 1998
West Virginia Air National Guard

Military Assignment – On 13 April 1978 until February 1988, I transferred to the Production Control career field from my former AFSC Electrical Power Production Specialist. This position provided a central point for information vital to the accomplishment of the Base Civil Engineering mission. I accomplished preliminary tasks such as; compiling estimates of requirements for materials, man-hours along with machine time in Civil Engineering shops, coordinated with higher level personnel to determine workload priorities, obtain blue prints and specifications and related data concerning CE projects and obtaining supply support for necessary materials and equipment. I prepared job orders and work orders, scheduled phases of projects for each shop (electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etc), followed up to determine if the job progressed as planned, arranged adjustments in materials, process and priority sequence to accommodate unexpected changes, etc. I monitored the status of recurring maintenance program accomplished by in-service personnel. I have maintained logs that showed the status of all civil engineering work in progress, programmed for future accomplishment or in work stoppage. I have estimated man-hours, machine time, and procured materials, prepared sketches and supervised projects at the Air National Guard Readiness Center at Andrews Air Force Base and at McGuire Air Force Base.

U.S. Steel Mining Co March 1975 - December 1987

Mechanic – I was responsible for maintaining equipment such as belt conveyors, screw conveyors, chain conveyors, centrifuges, shakers screens, water pumps, air scrubbers, coal silo, vibrators, etc. While being a mechanic I was required to be able to repair/replace pipe, plastic and metal through out the plant. While being employed at US Steel I was also trained and was used as a relief person on other jobs such as Greaser, Bath Operator, Plant Operator, Truck Driver, Car Dropper and Slate Picker on other shifts.

West Virginia Tractor & Equipment July 1974 – March 1975

Welder – I was responsible for maintaining and installing new and used equipment to our customers such as Dozers, Tractors, Street Cleaning trucks, Forklift and Backhoes by replacing or repairing them by cutting and welding replacement parts or by using hand tools to get them back to working order for the customers to use.
