Achievements:
* Liaising with industry, preparing project proposals, conducting laboratory-scale research. Being promoted for the first high standard internal report presented.
* Proposing and conducting industrial-scale research in a large Coal Processing plant to improve the coal recovery. The report produced for my M.Sc. project was recognised as one of the best in the College and in the Company.
* Acquiring skills of experimental design for empirical modelling and optimisation, using various computer software products, presenting papers at international conferences.
* Excellent assessed performance in teaching at university and obtaining a scholarship for continuing education.
* Being awarded Mining Engineering Observing Certificate by the Ministry of Mines and Metals (Iran). I was in charge of two mines (Underground Barite and Surface Clay), visiting and reporting every month.
Work Experience:
* Consultant 2005- till now, Processing Consultant in Choghart Iron Processing Plant, Working with Production and Mechanical Departments to improve the plant efficiency.
* September 2003 – till now, Head of the Mining Research Group, The Engineering Research Centre of Yazd University, Iran
Mineral Processing Consultant, Liaising with Mineral Industries, Currently in charge of two projects on Milling and Magnetic separation in Choghart Mine, Central Iran.
* October 2002 – till now, Iran Mineral Processing Research Centre, Yazd
Working as a referee; to approve the research proposals, control their progress, and validate the final reports
* September 2002 – till now, University of Yazd, Iran, Lecturer
MSc course director, teaching (flotation, design of experiments, and design of mineral processing plants) to MSc students in Mineral Processing and supervising their projects
* September 1991 - Jun.1996, University of Yazd, Iran, Lecturer
Joining a newly established mining engineering department. In charge of preparing the department and its facilities for B.Sc. students. Teaching introductory units and mineral processing, interviewing applicants and offering jobs. Having a good reputation for caring for students and being an active member of staff.
* August 1990 - September 1991, Zarand Coal Washing Plant, Iran, Process Engineer
An industrial placement to conduct my M.Sc. project. Evaluating the current situation of the plant and reporting to the company director, with recommendation for increasing plant recovery. Responsible for technicians, performing daily plant assays. Co-ordinate the quality control and processing divisions. My research work was the only up to date document about the plant, and part of the work on coal flotation was presented in a Coal Seminar.
* March 1990 - July 1990, Arsenjan Chromite Mine, Iran, Mining Engineer,
My first experience of being a shift manager in an underground mine. The mine was in a development phase (i.e. excavating tunnels and shafts, exploration, construction). Drilling, blasting, ore transport and surveying were a part of daily job.
* July 1988 - March 1990, Iranian Institute of Mineral Research, Research Engineer
Responsible for conducting feasibility study of a medium size Talc deposit and producing a high standard report. Being promoted to take the responsibility of liasing with industry to make proposals for their projects. Conducting one of the projects on a Manganese Ore processing.
* Summer 1987 and 1986, Coal and Chromite mines, respectively, Iran, Trainee
Training on all phases of underground coal and chromite mines (i.e. exploration, development, extraction and processing) during my B.Sc. study.
* Part-time work undertaken during PhD study
October 1997 - May 2000, Imperial College, Laboratory Demonstrator (part-time),
Selected for demonstrating and instructing several groups of 8-10 B.Sc. students to undertake Crushing, Grinding, Sieving and Magnetic Separation experiments.
