Maintenance/Construction Management: Maintenance/construction professional with 15 plus years experience in international mining, oil/gas and mine construction/operation in underground and open pit environments. Provided leadership of maintenance departments, construction contractors, shop and field repairs for mobile equipment, crushing, and conveying, gold process plant during 50M-heap leach mine construction. Selected Achievements
Managed the construction of a 250 person camp consisting of an office complex, living quarters, dining/recreation, water purification system, power system and security bunkers in Kabul, Afghanistan. Supervised ex-pat and local labor force and worked with embassy personnel to ensure construction was done according to specifications. Result: Construction was completed on time to the satisfaction of the client.
Develop maintenance programs to improve efficiency of department and increase equipment availability for a gold mine in Honduras. Designed and implemented daily, weekly and monthly maintenance management programs; set standards for performance, trained personnel and coordinated all efforts with other departments. Result: Improved time management within the maintenance department, streamlined mechanical activities, promoted interdepartmental communication and achieved a higher level of maintenance.
Modify the crusher feeder system to eliminate an engineering design flaw in a Latin American gold heap leach project. Analyzed a reoccurring bearing failure, collaborated with mechanics and operations personnel, devised an alternative method to feed the crusher, coordinated personnel and materials to implement the changes and supervised the completion of the repairs. Result: The modification eliminated the reoccurring damage, reduced unscheduled maintenance and increased tonnage of gold ore delivered to the leach pads.
Develop comprehensive maintenance programs for mobile equipment, crushing and conveying for an international mining company. Examined maintenance requirements, established performance standards, generated daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance schedules, reviewed program with department heads and implemented the system. Result: Improved time management within the maintenance department, promoted interdepartmental communication and achieved a higher level of availability that would reduce costs.
