* Central Material Testing Laboratory, WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority), Pakistan, a project of UNDP. (June 1995-May 2004)
Supervised Rock Mechanics laboratory as a Laboratory Manager and involved in lab. Testing of materials for 131 small hydroelectric projects 2 motorways and one 1600 MW powerhouse. Also carried out geo-technical core logging including rock quality designation, estimation of joint parameters and rock mass classification on two irrigation tunnels. Field-testing of foundation rocks and subsoil investigation (Overburden Geology) was conducted for various civil engineering projects. Non-destructive testing of concrete was done on already built projects to evaluate the compressive strength.

* Dams Safety Organization, WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority), Pakistan, (May 1985-May 1995)
Worked as a GEOLOGIST team member for carrying out Problem Studies, Geotechnical Works and Safety Inspections of on 6 already built large dams including World's Largest earth filled dam (Tarbela Dam Project). Supervised drilling for grouting, drainage and instrumentation. Also worked on stabilization of rock cut slopes and seepage studies. Engineering Geological Mapping of foundation rocks was done for various structures. Excavation of tunnels, adits, shafts, seepage galleries and trenches was supervised to ensure the design specifications. Inspections of reservoir rim were carried out to monitor any landslides or slope failure. Report writing and presentations was done for the team of engineers and geologists from various International consulting companies.

* Golder Associates Ltd. (Mar.1984-Aug.1984)
Supervised core drilling, core logging and core handling at the 750 MW Powerhouse building of Warsak Dam Project. 39 holes were drilled and instrumented with piezometers to monitor the pore pressures in the foundation rocks. Concrete samples were extracted to study the Alkali Silica Reaction resulting in the development of cracks in the powerhouse building. Extensometers were installed in the drill holes and powerhouse building to monitor any potential movement.

* Geological Survey Of Pakistan (Nov. 1981-Apr.1983)
Worked as Assistant Director geology on sratigraphic studies and supervision of core drilling at Lakhra Coal Mine. Carried out geological mapping using aerial photographs and topographic maps on 1:50000 scale.
Worked with international team of geologists from Smithsonian Institute Washington DC, Harvard University, Michigan university and Illinois State Museum in connection with carrying out stratigraphic and paleontology studies of Siwalik rock formations. Extensive fieldwork, mapping, sampling for palaeo magnetic studies, excavation, extraction and preservation of vertebrate fossils was carried out.

* Geological and Mining Consultants, Pakistan (September.1979-oct.1981)
Geological mapping, surveying, sampling, excavation of trenches, supervision of core drilling (450 drill holes) was done for 4 Ordinary Portland Cement Plants to evaluate the quality and quantity of raw materials. Geological sections measurement of Limestone beds was done for feasibility studies. Open pit Mining through bench blasting were supervised in Limestone deposits.
