Stillwater Mining Company 2008-Present

Mine Manager – East Boulder Project
Site manager of 2300 total ton per day underground platinum/palladium/rhodium mine.
* Hired in July '08 to optimize the East Boulder Project underground mine to increase underground production rate, rationalize mobile equipment and manpower and maximize economic margin.
* By September '08 market prices of Pt/Pd had dropped over 70% and rhodium had dropped from $9400/oz to less than $1200/oz.
* I led my management TEAM to institute a temporary mine shutdown, built a restructured mine plan to minimize cash loss at current prices to survive until price upturns, rationalized the mobile equipment fleet (reduced by 56%) and manpower (reduced by 51%) to implement the plan with PGM ounce production rate 79% of the previous rate.
* Reduced the East Boulder Project cost per ounce production rate from $655/oz to $432/oz.

Directed the optimization study on Homestake Mining Company's behalf at the joint venture partner's property, the Williams and David-Bell Mines (Hemlo Mines) – Marathon, Ontario, Canada

Managed the production of the Homestake Mine, which produced 3,500-ton/day ore stream from mechanized cut-and-fill and small-scale bulk mining methods with a 112-man mining, services, technical and support staff.
