Positions of Responsibility

Ventilation Officer 2004-2006

Increased fan efficiency and reduced power consumption; prepared and successfully completed a high impact ventilation audit conducted by the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection (DOCEP). The audit performed extremely well, with an overall score of 93%.

Production engineer 2004-2006

Designed, charged and fired 30 meter long 15meter high drag. Designed, charged and fired numerous underground intersection blasts of plus 25,000t using connector dets.
Reduced meters drilled per tonne broken. This was achieved through increasing burden and spacing in accordance to rock mass classification, and standard deviation between production holes.

Alimak engineer 2006-2008

Redesigned Alimak drilling to produce a safer, more productive drilling technique. This increased drilling productivity by 100%. Produced a script using mine 24D for the drill/stope design of an Alimak stope; this cut the time to produce an alimak design from 2 weeks to 1 day.

Cut and fill engineer 2006-2008

Produced a 4 month rolling forecast, developed a monthly plan derived from the 4 month schedule, provided the mine department with DnF panel designs for each of the DnF levels, designed and issued all breast access back slashes to minimise waste development and provided fill plans to the paste department.

Vertical development 2006-2008

Designed and scheduled vertical development including airleg rises, raise drilling, Alimak raise and longhole raises. Also I took on the responsibility of the mine captain when required.

Project engineer (Contractor) 2008-2009

I was in charge of the monthly progress payment to the client (claim was around $2,500,000) and the quarterly/yearly budget.
I have full control of all logistics, underground production and scheduling.
Part of my daily routine was scoping, justifying, planning and tracking the completion of all projects such as maintenance workshop, emulsion silo's and making sure they are finished within agreed timeframes.

Mining superintendent 2009 (Feb)-Closure

Responsible for the overall operation of the mine including but not limited to production, safety, mine planning, and cost containment. Drive continuous improvement activities and give technical input to maximise productivity and gain efficiencies. Recruit and expand technical service department in line with increased production forecast.
