* Provided detailed cost vs. budget analyses to Project Management to assist in successful management of major offshore construction projects.
* Created an illuminating vendor/procurement analysis as part of a major supply chain analysis initiative which resulted in changes to the procurement process, and significant cost savings.

April, 1999 – April, 2003: Finance Manager – Kazakhstan (Aktau, Kazakhstan):
* Actively participated in successful negotiations with Texaco, Inc. for the processing and storage of Texaco's production from their N. Buzachi oil field at Kerr-McGee's Arman Field facilities.
* Successfully obtained a cash VAT refund of $1.8 million from the Mangystau Regional tax authorities.
* Successfully defended $20.5 million of alleged tax violations raised in an audit by the Ministry of State Revenue. Final settlement was for $25,000.
* Managed all accounting activities and reported financial results of Kazakhstan operations monthly to corporate headquarters for consolidation.
* Managed procurement, warehousing and inventory functions. Procurement activity was done in conjunction with Procurement Management in the U.S.
* Managed the IT function for the local office in Aktau, including computer hardware, file servers, software licenses, data storage/backup, and transmission and satellite communications. This function also included oversight for reservoir modeling software and accounting/payroll systems.

May, 1997 – March, 1999: Manager, Asset Accounting (Oklahoma City):
* Successfully ensured reporting deadlines were met for consolidation of international subsidiaries' accounting information.
* Provided vacation/business travel relief for our Finance & Admin. Manager in Beijing, China. Trips to Beijing were normally 6 weeks in duration and duties performed included oversight for accounting HR, IT infrastructure, annual budget preparation, and development of a system for tracking purchase orders and warehouse inventories. Also represented Kerr McGee at joint venture partner meetings in Shekou, China.
* Assisted Country Manager with establishing a new office in Bangkok, Thailand, including securing office space, hiring of local personnel and establishing bank accounts, establishment and management of a procurement system, accounting system, and IT infrastructure for the office.
* Ensured compliance with tax and labor legislation in Thailand.
* Established administrative procedures for offices in Yemen, China, and Thailand.

ZAO Oilpump: September, 1996 – April, 1997
Materials Manager, Kogalym, Russia:
* Successfully managed procurement and warehousing activities for downhole submersible pumps, related equipment, and electrical motor winding equipment.
* Established procurement procedures and ensured internal compliance.
