Responsibilities

ƒÞ Planning, designing and logging of grade control programmes which include Sampling of RC and blasthole (Tamrock, Pantera 1500) drills, logging and recording data.
ƒÞ Ensure samples are dispatched timely and accurately to the laboratory and that all necessary QAQC protocols have been followed correctly.
ƒÞ QAQC for Assay analysis.
ƒÞ Close liaison with Assay Laboratory Managers for rapid assay turnaround.
ƒÞ Update Grade Control data (i.e. Collar, Survey, Assay and Geology) into Surpac database.
ƒÞ Updating the Grade Control Model for preparation of Bench plans.
ƒÞ Producing ore interpretations and designating ore blocks to appropriate stockpiles.
ƒÞ Supervision of mining contractors to effectively extract ore with minimum dilution.
ƒÞ Maintain the Geology database to provide accurate reports as required of the ore mined, current ore stockpile status and reconciliation with the ore reserve model.
ƒÞ Geological and geotechnical mapping of pit floors and pit walls.
ƒÞ Train and then supervise field technicians in the work procedures required for grade control sampling, ore mark-outs (ore delineation) and ore spotting.
ƒÞ Allocation of daily duties to pit technicians.
ƒÞ Attend weekly meetings and provide up to date plans and information regarding geology and grade control.
ƒÞ Prism monitoring.
ƒÞ Ensure that employees (especially subordinates) and contractors comply with CGML's health safety and environmental (HSE) standards and any legislative requirements.
ƒÞ Generating Base of Complete Oxidation (BOCO) from drillhole information.
ƒÞ End of month grade control drilling report which includes holes drilled, meters drilled, samples generated and assay etc.
ƒÞ Training of National Service Personnel, Attachment Students and Grade control technicians.
