Designed and implemented new procedure for deca crystallizers that decreased washing time by 50% to 80%.
Challenged and changed the way caustic was made in the ELDM plant, reducing lime costs in the making of caustic. Also eliminated caustic grits crusher that caused extra down time and unsafe conditions to the floor operators.
Improved process yield rate by changing evaporation rates and recycling waste streams.

Bicarb Control Room Operator 1990 - 1995
Original start up control room operator in the new sodium bicarbonate plant that exceeded plant capacity by 17%.
Received letter of accomplishment while working on the Bicarb Manufacturing team and nominated for FMC's Chairman Award. Received letters of recognition for job performance and implementing new ideas in a self directed work force.
Redesigned and implemented a pump seal to use steam instead of air in the carbonation tower so that the rupture disc would not rupture.
Designed header system for washing heat exchangers used in circulation flow of the carbonation tower, later implemented in 1997.

Temporary Tailings Operator 1989 - 1990
Involved in startup project to inject tailings back into old mine worked out areas. Received letter of recognition for job success at the end of project.

Sesqui Filter Operator 1978 - 1989
Received letter of appreciation for taking the initiative to remove an additive screw that was costly and caused housekeeping issues.
