POSITION: CONTROL SYSTEMS AND INSTRUMENTS TECHNICIAN

WORKING EXPERIENCE

I have working knowledge of the following plants:
Underground mine,concentrators,smelter and refinery plants (PGMs and Base Metals) including service units as labaratory and water treatment plants.

DUTIES

Installation, programming, maintenance, servicing, repair, on-line problem solving, and calibration of process instrumentation and control systems equipment including PLCs and computer workstations.
Installing and modifying control systems and SCADA mimics.
Consulting manufacturers' manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures.
Work with engineers on basic design and PLC programming.
Planning and carrying out projects for continuous improvement.
Practicing condition based and use maintenance principles.
Organizing the procurement of critical spares.
Creating and keeping an inventory of plant equipment.
Managing stock levels of spares.
Attending to stand by duties.
Consult with and advise process operators.
Training and supervision of apprentices and Assistant Technicians.
Implementing company policies on Safety Health and Environment (SHE), Environmental Management systems (EMS ISO 14001), Occupational Health Safety and Auditing (management) Systems (OHSAS), and Quality Assurance (QA ISO 9001).
