June 2006 ¡V March 2008 Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd. I worked as Deputy General Manager ¡V Procurement and contracts (Projects) leading a team of 8 engineers.

November 2005-June 2006 Shell International Exploration and Production B.V (SIEP). I worked as Senior Contracts Engineer.

November 2000-October 2005 Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), Abu Dhabi is a major oil production company under the ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation) Group. Execute responsibilities of Contracts and Procurement Engineer.

October 1996 ¡V October 2000 Fluor Daniel India Private Limited, a 100% subsidiary of Fluor Daniel Inc., USA. Joined as procurement engineer and was promoted to Senior Procurement engineer in two years. While in Fluor Daniel, I worked at their overseas offices at Netherlands and USA on their international projects for Dow Chemicals and Duke Energy.

October 1991-September 1996 Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Limited (MECON), is one of the largest engineering consultancy organization in India. Joined as a management trainee and was promoted twice in 4 year period-initially to the post of Assistant Contracts Engineer and then to Contracts Engineer.

Major Responsibilities

I. At Cairn Energy India Pty Ltd

Led the project procurement and contracting activities for Mangala project, one of the largest onshore oilfield production facility development project ($ 1.4 billion) based in India. My responsibilities included developing procurement team, formulating procurement strategy, developing and managing the procurement plan with special focus on long lead items, ensuring the compliance and auditability of the procurement process, managing approvals within company and with JV partners (ONGC), stakeholder management, progress reporting to management and LV partners. I worked very closely with USA based Design and Engineering company Mustang Engineering, a Woodgroup Company on this project.

We placed orders for equipment, materials and services worth $ 600 million. Procurement of equipment has been internationally from all over the globe. Some of the main packages procured include pumps, steam turbines, steam system packages, compressors, dehydrators, valves, pipes, fittings etc. Contracts awarded include civil works and EPIC contract.

II. At Shell International Exploration & Production BV

Responsibilities included compiling vendor lists for LLI's during project execution strategy during bidding stage of the project. I was involved in the formulation of contracting strategy for potential projects in India and UAE. I also worked on the Persian LNG project where I managed the award of FEED contract. I was a part of Shell's India Sourcing initiative to establish procurement base in India. In addition, I supported central teams in putting together manpower and consultancy contracts.

III. At Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), ADNOC's Operating Unit

(i) Procurement and Contracts

Responsibilities include: Review SOW for clarity and competitiveness, Establish contracting strategy & tactics, issue Expression of Interest and tender, evaluate bids techno-commercially, negotiate, recommend award, attend tender boards, prepare order/contracts and review claims. These activities were carried for contracts required for smooth operations of offshore oilfield and included vessel chartering, maintenance contracts, procurement IT software and hardware etc. Primary responsibility also included coaching local UAE Nationals in Procurement and contracting concepts. I was involved in functional development of "Contracts Module" in Maximo.

(ii) Strategy Formulation for Cost Optimization

Led cross-functional teams to formulate cost optimization and process improvement strategies for high spend areas namely spare parts management, project engineering, piping bulk materials, production chemicals and e-procurement. The major tasks include developing project charter, root cause analysis, data gathering, conducting gap analysis, benchmarking, communicating with peers, market and key stakeholders, synthesizing conclusions into recommendations and presenting to management.

(iii) Supply Chain process reengineering

I developed the SCM processes for Pre-qualification, Invitation to Tender, Contract administration and Suppliers performance evaluation. These processes were assessed by CIPS, UK a neutral third party and awarded a Silver Certification.

IV. At (1) Fluor Daniel in India, Netherlands and USA and (2) Mecon India

(a) Planning contracts and procurement activities for timely completion of projects.
(b) Pre-qualification of contractors and suppliers to identify capable and competitive vendors.
(c) Preparation of tender documents keeping in mind related legal aspects.
(d) Commercial evaluation, negotiate and recommend award.
(e) Drafting contract documents and purchase orders.
(f) Post award contract administration.
(g) Expediting
(h) Evaluate and process changes and claims.
(i) Invoice verification and recommendation for payments.

„X US$ 350 million Ethane Cracker Project with a production capacity of 425,000 MTPY of ethylene for DOW Chemicals, USA at Argentina.
„X NG3 Polyester Plant project for Dupont, USA to be constructed at various locations in Asia.
„X Worked on three combined Cycle Power plants of 500MW each being constructed for Duke Energy North America.
