The Company: Founded in 1919, company manufactures pressure vessels and tanks for sale to the energy industry worldwide. Up to 50 employees, labor and management, on two shifts.
Achievements:
* Consistently within or under budget.
* Created purchasing system on Quatro Pro and implemented systematic vendor files, buying procedures, and master files, resulting in user-friendly and on-time continuous efficiency and streamlining.
* Modernized order processing to a 48-hour window (or less).
* Initiated on-line, real-time history file by vendor which has saved time, analysis, and costs.
Purchasing/Inventory: Sole person in department. Purchase all structural items and MROs, outside processing services, contract items (propane gas to electric) within $5-15M annual budget. Select vendors based on delivery history. Authorized to add or delete vendors. Assign job costing and pricing for inventory items.
Scrap: Team with production to determine steel scrap. Send bid lists to local scrap companies, review bids, determine best sources and prices, and execute sales. Negotiate and finalize contracts (up to $1M).
