Deputy Bureau Chief, Department of Railroad Scheduling and Safety 2001-2003
- Directed group responsible for scheduling of all freight and passenger trains for a national railway network encompassing approximately 2000 km of track and transporting over 18 million passengers per year.
- Monitored train performance across the network; conducted extensive statistical analysis of safety and performance data to compile comprehensive performance reports on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Managed printing portion of inter-departmental 3-month intensive effort resulting in publication of bi-annual system-wide transportation plan. Verified train schedules and circulation graphs; communicated with printing company; tracked and proofread all documents.
- Solved highly complex scheduling problems involving as many as 20 trains, using specialized mathematical formulas. Introduced special trains, for impromptu use by royal/government officials, affecting entire rail network. Accurately calculated schedule changes affecting as many as 200 stations, often one day's notice.
- Trained new recruits quarterly, and taught courses highlighting the impact of scheduling on train safety. Received accolades from supervisors and trainees for making a highly technical subject very engaging.
