Project Situation:
Agip KCO needed to migrate/ upgrade its SharePoint Intranet from a 2003 to 2007 platform. That is, it needed to migrate its Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 and Server 2003 installations to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform.
It also needed, in the main, to support SharePoint Intranet users across two continents ¡V Europe and Asia.
Key Tasks:
* Migrate SharePoint 2003 Intranet to SharePoint 2007 platform
* Re-train Intranet Content Administrators on the new platform
* Document the migration process including any complexities
* Decommission the SharePoint 2003 platform
* Support users through the transition process

* Document the existing architecture and enumerate sites to be migrated
* Document existing Web Parts
* Plan Web Parts migration as a major entity of the migration plan (separately and thoroughly)
