• Identified and investigated several operating electric power plants (particularly those integrated with natural gas development) in China for acquisition possibilities.
• Represented the Beijing regional office in the daily management of the four operating power plants developed by Coastal Power in the mid 1990s. Most challenging and rewarding task was the successful renegotiation of the Power Purchase Agreement and tariff with the municipal and provincial power bureaus and pricing authorities.
• Asset management activities included: (1) establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Chinese joint venture partners and various government authorities; and (2) working with international agencies such as Multilateral Insurance Governing Agency (MIGA) under the World Bank.

• Served as the second lead developer in the acquisition of a high priority (approved by the Chinese State Development & Planning Commission) two phases 2x500 MW power plant. Development efforts included negotiation of major commercial contracts such as joint venture contract, power purchase agreement and fuel supply contract. .
• Drafted and edited project information memoranda and reports, prepared project schedules and performed financial model analysis.
• Coordinated with outside counsels, advisors and chief accountants for joint venture financial matters, maintained business relationships with relevant Chinese government regulatory and authorities.

• Conducted market surveys and analyzed power markets in Jiangsu and Henan and other related provinces in China, performed financial due diligence.
• Collected various project data, prepared reports and presentation material, combined company and project promotion brochures.
