CAREER CHRONOLOGY Elmar (Houston) – A Varco Company Leading manufacturer of wireline pressure control equipment, perforating hardware and casing services. Quality System I have responsibility for the creation and implementation of the Quality Management system to ensure that the production process of wireline pressure control products complied with good manufacturing practices. This involved gaining ISO 9001 accreditation. More recently, updating the management system to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, allowing Elmar to consistently manufacture the highest quality products and fulfill customer requirements. Perform quality audits internally on major suppliers and for customers when requested. Monitor all product and system non-conformances and customer complaints and ensure timely disposition and recommend corrective preventative action. Development and maintenance of quality management procedures, works instructions and documents. Compiling Project Quality Plans. Quality Control Scheduling of Inspectors work ensuring all equipment and gauges are available and calibrated and all materials testing and coating are as per prints. Dealing with all inspection/engineering queries. Submitting engineering change orders. Final Inspection of all completed equipment prior to release to the customer. Equipment Certification Checking all Independent engineering design reviews, material specifications, traceability and testing, witnessing all hydrostatic pressure testing, liaising with Third party inspectors to gain final product certification to applicable API, DNV or required Industry Standards. Safety Enforcing corporate Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are adhered to in all aspects of the business ie Workshop and Field Operations. Conducting safety meetings and encouraging 'toolbox talks'. Carrying out safety audits and risk analysis. Assure company practices are in line with OSHA Regulations with regards to: PPE, accident reporting, emergency drills, lock-out tag-out, handling chemicals and disposal of hazardous waste. Materials Control Approval of all suppliers, reviewing all purchase orders and resolving all purchase order and invoice queries. Analyzing supplier performance through computer generated reports. Negotiating Contracts with all major suppliers. Working closely with Purchasing and Inventory Control personnel to guarantee the availability of all parts/equipment as and when required. Training/Managing Staff Supervising all QA/QC and Materials Control staff. Conducting interviews with potential staff for all areas of the business. Conduct performance reviews, counseling sessions, directly involved in disciplinary action and grievance procedure. Induction training for all new staff, ongoing training on quality and safety procedures. Elmar (Aberdeen, Scotland) QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER Initially employed to monitor and update the Quality Management system, manage a large inspection team and deputize for the QA Safety Manager in his absence. After 1 year became responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management system and manufacturing methods within the Perth, Australia and Houston, USA facilities.
