SAP Experience (two full cycle SAP HR Implementation)

Project I (from January 2004 to August 2004)

My role in the SAP project was as HR team lead from client side for SAP R/3 HR (4.7 Enterprise Version) implementation at VSNL. Lead the team of 8 core team members From VSNL & TCS. The timeline for project to "Go Live" was July 2004 from its kick start date of 27th January 2004. The project met all its timelines and went live on 1st July 2004.

* SAP R/3 HR Module knowledge: OM, Recruitment, Payroll, PA, PD Training & Event, Time Management and ESS.
* Deliberations and finalization of organization structure and key data structures, Business process assessment, Identification and resolution of gaps.
* Envisioning and finalization of rationalized business processes
Participated in business process mapping of current HR processes
* Actively involved in designing and documenting new business processes
* Created work instructions and end user documentation for Personnel Administration and Reporting.
* Mapped Organizational Units and Positions.
* Deciding on the Organizational structure, Gap analysis, freezing of requirement through discussion with the process owners.
* Process mapping through ASAP methodology
* Preparation of Business Blueprint and approval of the same
* Data Migration of the Personnel Administration master data with Batch input technique.
* Creation of Authorisation metrics for End Users.
* Worked on Configuration and Transactions of HR sub-modules: OM, Recruitment, Personnel & Administration, Training & Event Management, PD, Payroll and ESS.
* Creation of test scripts and testing of configuration in all the modules.
* Responsible for HR Workshops and HR-key user training. Imparted End-User Training.
* Member of the Help-desk as part of the Post Go-Live Support.

Project II from (January 2005 to till date)

Deputed to group Company TATA Teleservices Limited to become part of the team for implementing SAP R/3 HR Module (4.7 Enterprise Version). The project has been kicked on 27th January 2005 and go live target date is June 2005. The project is on at preparing initial testing stage. Responsible for Implementation of Recruitment & PA Module at TTSL
* Mapping of AS IS business process and TO BE process in SAP.
* Finalisation of enterprise Structure, Personnel Structure
* Preparation of Blue print
* Conducted Blue Print workshop.
* Assisted in configuration of recruitment & PA Module.
* Preparation of functional specification for new infotype & Infotype enhancement in recruitment & PA.
* Preparing Functional Specs for Development of New Reports
* Creation of workflow for Manpower requisition and approval process at TTSL through ESS.
* Creation of Business Event Catalogue, Qualification Catalogue & Holiday Calendar.
* Preparation of Data Collection template based on SAP IT.
* Migration of Master data into SAP.
* Creation of Test Script based on the blue print document and testing the configuration.
* Implementing Web recruitment process at TTSL using SAP recruitment module.

Functional Knowledge:
8 years of experience in HR function, which encompasses the entire gamut of activities pertaining to HR:

* Compensation and Benefits: Handling all the operational issues related to compensation and benefits of managerial staff and non-managerial staff. Fixation of Salary after revision of Salary based on Mohan Committee report.

* Recruitment: Handling Internal recruitments across all levels in the organisation. Job involves internal job postings, screening of applications, scheduling interviews etc. Exit Interview, feedback evaluation.

* Employees Data: Solely responsible for maintaining and updating HRMS at corporate level. Part of the team in building VSNL Intranet portal "Panorama".

* Performance Management: Was a key member of the team that introduced a competency based performance management system in 2002.Responsibility involves administering the performance appraisal process across the entire organisation. Instrumental in rolling out the Performance Appraisal workshops.

* Employee Relations: Responsible for all day to day operational matters like upgradations, transfers, manpower statistics/ planning, settlement of terminal benefits, loans, special approvals, etc.
* Change Management: Was part of the various changes management initiative taken by the Company after its privatizations.

* VRS: Designed and implemented voluntary retirement scheme for VSNL in the year 2003.

* Training and Development: Handling both internal as well as external training. Job also involves identification of training needs based on the organization's competency framework and conduction of in house training Programmes. The scope of training includes Technical, Behavioral, Functional, Leadership and Quality training. Instrumental in arranging countrywide training Programmes (21 nos.) within 6 months in which more than 1000 executives were covered through these Programmes. I am also responsible for new employee induction and orientation. Introduced E-learning platform in company's Intranet.
