I held the position of Crew Party Manager Land Operations 2 and 3 Dimension, (utilising Heli-portable, Vibroseis, Dynamite, and Transition Zone Airgun techniques) with my last employer for 8 years, having progressed from the post of mechanic since 1980, and had been employed in the Seismic industry continually since. I have experience of working throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, in at times hostile, remote and challenging terrain types including desert, mountain, jungle-bush, urban, coastal and transition zone, and areas within Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait requiring EOD clearance.
Party Manager, WesternGeco 1996 – Redundancy date 6thJune 2003
My most recent assignment was as Party Manager on Schlumberger/WesternGeco Crew 4959 in the United Arab Emirates, contracted jointly to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and the British Geological Society, on a 2D Deep Seismic Profiling project covering the Fujairah Mountain region of the Northern Emirates. The crew comprised 200 plus personnel of mixed nationality, various religions and cultures. The Assistant Party Manager, All Heads of Department, Catering Manager, LPT Leader, Mine Clearance Supervisor, Camp Clerk, and Camp Boss reported directly to me.

Main responsibilities
* Responsible for the overall compliance with QHSE standards and procedures and necessary corrective action is taken to ensure future compliance where and when appropriate. Maintenance and update of Site Specific Management Plan.
* Supervision of data quality
* Achievement of production and financial goals. Control of direct field cash payments.
* Co-ordinated the work in all departments through organised meetings and on an individual basis with department heads.
* Communications to both WesternGeco and Client management, informing them of daily crew progress and any problems that may require special attention.
* Effective supervision of any contractor, visitor and equipment rental under my control.
* Develop staff by supplying coaching, objectives, appraisals and reviews, and recommending training, transfers and promotions as appropriate.
* Develop personnel to accomplish the company's and client's objectives.
* Ensure confidentiality of appropriate company information, its contractors and clients.

Senior Vibrator Technician/Chief Mechanic, Western Geophysical (took over H.G.S) 1994 – 1995
Running of Base-camp workshop. Supporting vibrator units on the line. Ordering spares. Repair and maintenance of all generators and ancillary equipment. Training of locally hired Junior and Senior staff personnel, in mechanical, technical and safety awareness on the crew in Oman. During my time as a Mechanic I successfully completed courses related to Kenworth, Volvo and Caterpillar training agencies.

Chief Mechanic, Halliburton Geophysical Services 1989 – 1994
Responsible for all aspects and levels of repair and maintenance to both vibrators, support vehicles, generators, spares, requisitions, hands on training of Local Hire Drivers and Mechanics in all job aspects and crew mobilisations.

Senior Truck/Vibrator Mechanic, Geosource 1980 – 1989
Camp Mechanic on a dynamite crew. Working with Drills, Buggies, Mol and Kenworth's. Ran vibrator workshops and departments of crews.

I was responsible for the repair and maintenance of a large modern fleet of passenger carrying vehicles, some recovery work, preparation of vehicles for Ministry of Transport testing and plating, and training of apprentices.

I worked on all types of vehicles from motorcycles to light armoured and tracked vehicles. Trained on petrol and diesel engines as well as auto electrics. Served in Germany, UK, and Northern Ireland.
