Eng. Director, currently independent Consultant seeks long term position - Eng. Manager, EPC J.V. Dir., Proj. Mgr, Oper. Mgr., Constr. Mgr. Consultant, Refinery, Petrochem., LNG, Pharm., Engineering, Goup Mgmt, etc.
MS majors in refinery, petrochem. plant design, heat transfer,-early career experience at Wyandotte Chemicals, Blaw Knox,Chem Plants Div, and A.G. McKee, followed by world wide EPC experience at ABB Lummus Global and as an independent consultant - Gave me hands on experience in plant operations, trouble shooting, process calculations, detailed project engineering with P&I flow-sheet development, equipment specifications, estimating and proposal preparation, for a diversity of major complex domestic and international process plant projects, with associated energy, power plant and infrastructure from site preparation and layout to plant start up, plant turn-around and maintenance.
This early experience was followed by increasing financial, technical and team management responsibilities as Proposal Mgr, Project Engineering Mgr, Project Mgr, EPC J.V. Director, consulting, technical audits, presentations, assisting sales, project financing, contract negotiations, and a most interesting challenge in engineering group management - assigned to create a new Process Systems Group at Lummus (process, project and instrument engineers) to target open art, client "know-how", and licensor process designs in collaboration with other specialty teams.
Responsible for EPC teams up to 500, process plants of $500 + million class petroleum, petrochemicals, chemical, pharmaceutical, NOX, CO, S removal, Co-gen., power, coal and municipal waste, etc. A decade as an independent consultant followed my departure from Lummus - called back by Hoffmann-La Roche, then the Philippine Bataan Refinery, (earlier wearing a Lummus hat), and promoting other ventures.
My assignments gave me exposure to the cultures, people, governments, contractors, vendors in more than 36 countries (USA, Europe, S. America, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Pacific-rim) with proposals for the Middle East, - A challenge of diversity.
Enjoying my career "adventure" with full scope EPC responsibility for quality, cost, schedule and a satisfied client, hands on work and supervision of process and detail design, estimates, procedures and specifications, bid tabs, negotiations for - major complex projects, I surely have the experience, skills, maturity, initiative, and an innovative spirit mandated for any senior role- proposals, design through operations.
For the Warri and Kaduna Projects for Nigeria's NNPC, executed in Lummus' USA, UK, and Paris offices, my initiatives for expanded LS scope and contract terms, turned a "loser" into a most profitable job for Lummus.
Sensitive to the focus of the refinery, mandating assured operation to scheduled maintenance, quality equipment, design and full scope project implementation - for the Bataan Refinery projects my tenacity helped attain quality specifications and performance from Japanese and Korean EPC sub-contractors, and vendors, assuring a code spec. flare system, & contracted schedule through the Philippine typhoon season.
As J.V. Director for the Australian Shell Platformer EPC Project my spirit asserted the imperative to assure quality vendors and inspection from local and Pacific-rim sources, and effective collaboration by Lummus, NL, engineering team, and our Australian J.V. partner.
